Is Jayden Jackson leaving Iowa State?

If the player does something that warrants negative reporting, let the reporter tell the truth. But saying "forced to play" a certain player in a spring game is just weird phrasing?

I agree with you when it's a reporter from a legitimate news site (Register or one of the TV, but he isn't a reporter, he runs CycloneReport. Pretty much a fan site, not a news site.

This seems like a pretty weak thing to leave for, feels like JJ was on his way out one way or another and was just looking for the excuse to jump before whatever was going on caught up with him.

Nothing wrong with "forced to play", he played more bc of injuries, that's just a fact. Having his dirty laundry aired was likely the reason. This is on Rogers and I don't think it was on accident. Him leaving confirms Rogers comments.

@ChrisMWilliams says "hold my beer."

CycloneFanatic.com is both a fan site and a news site, especially on the premium board.

Just a quick PSA for those of you that listen too/take Bill Seals seriously, he reported that "CMC wasnt going anywhere" while CMC was actively meeting with PSU.

Out of all the media outlets/reporters that cover ISU, Seals is the absolute bottom of the totem pole

I mean, I kinda get it these days. Rule #1 in college football now is to get on the field and get tape out there at all costs, that's how someone writes you a check to play later. If you're buried on the depth chart here, then sure -- find a new spot.

But, the idea that this was caused by a beat reporter reciting a CJR quote is... odd, just odd. For what reason was that the final straw? Strange.

That is such an archaic way of thinking. All these guys get the same info now and traditional media hardly breaks sports news anymore.

That’s fine and probably a far assessment, but some people acting like the Register and other forms of traditional media the gold standard for reporting, is certainly a choice.

I’m not saying the are the gold standard but they are independent.

My point is a “reporter” for “cyclone” whatever should be biased towards isu.

What happens to his eligibility without a spring portal?
Since it's outside of portal window, I believe he has to sit out next year if he transfers within FBS. Old school transfer rules.

Not sure if rule still exists where he could transfer to FCS and be immediately eligible. Could also transfer to JUCO and play next fall.

Yeah I’m not going to go down that road on what this site is, should or wants to be.

But I don’t think I’ve ever seen an article on here overly negative towards a current isu athlete.

I guess I don’t know why it matters. If Seals put it in print and it wasn’t true, it would be addressed and probably get his credentials yanked. Since I don’t recall seeing this happen, and the 4th or 5th string RB left, the comment seems to be accurate.

And let’s not forget, Rogers did make that quote about him to a credentialed media member, on the record. Seals may have embellished it slightly for clicks, but Rogers still said what he said.

I don't have a problem with what Rogers said, I have a problem with a hack running with it in public. Lots of players get told stuff like this directly from coaches and they are fine with it because it stays in the locker room.
