Good question. It seems though it’s just a matter of “when” for the schools that continue to see big enrollment jumps.Depends, would the state board allow DCG to leave the LHC if it drops the conference to 6 schools? CIML doesn't "need" to expand.

I don’t know. Other than Urbandale, DCG and Norwalk are going to be way smaller than the other CIML schools, many of which are also growing.Good question. It seems though it’s just a matter of “when” for the schools that continue to see big enrollment jumps.
Right, and of course overall teams are better as you go up in classes. But it isn’t like if you’re getting blown out in one class you’re going to drop down and suddenly be good. It isn’t THAT big of a difference.
The 8 man level can make a big difference. I remember Rockford having to move up to A for a couple years and they won like one total game and was going to beat down city routinely. They dropped to 8 and was at least in the semis If not the finals the first year.Bad 4A teams would get smoked by the top Class A teams. Bad teams are bad teams. I remember class A Ogden destroying Perry a couple of years ago and Ogden wasn't even a good class A team. So yeah, moving from 5 to 4 or 3 to 2 because you suck won't change a thing.
I could see this. There are definitely going to be some teams that have good players but struggle to put a competitive 11 out there, especially OL. Plus in 8 man and A the impact of a good class of players can be huge. The 8 man level can make a big difference. Yeah, Rockford was quite bad for a long time. In the 2000s they were 1A. Then played in A for awhile before dropping to 8 man. They must have had a big class as they had to go back so class A for a cycle. They weren't great when playing 8 man but could win occasionally. They didn't win a game in their 2 years playing class A.The 8 man level can make a big difference. Has anything been passed for the allowance of 8th graders to play in HS sports?
I believe this is a done deal once the governor signs the HS athletics bill. I believe most coaches are responsible people and will not be putting 8th graders in dangerous positions. I think it’s overall a positive development.Hope not. Very dangerous in football. Big difference between 8th and 9th grade boys. If you need 8th graders to fill out a football roster you should probably think about consolidating.
Most coaches might be a responsible person...but not all are! A 13 year old matching up against an 18 year old? I don't think that is something that is needed...I believe this is a done deal once the governor signs the HS athletics bill. I really don’t think this will occur. At most this would fill out some jv rosters at class A sized schools. If an 8th grader is on the field on a Friday night with 17/18 year olds that is not a good thing.
An eighth grade graduate tried to practice medicine in Centerville.
