I said defense. Conforto has been a nice surprise at the plate, but he is below average in the outfield.

I don't consider Amaya and Kelly bench guys really, because they each pretty much split the catchers duties.

It would be nice if Mo Baller could play some defense. He's an emergency/#3 catcher. It would be nice if he could play a serviceable first base.
I don't know if you want a 5"8" guy manning first base. The kid can flat out hit though.

What is our obsession with Lopez lol
I got stuck watching plenty of Lopez when he was with the Royals, guy just can't hit. He is a good glove though, and can run some, those two things are good enough for a utility infielder. Better than Kingery in all regards, and you know he's barely making league minimum money. Plus, he must be a good "clubhouse guy" or they wouldn't keep bringing him back.

Apparently Council loves him. The BR article I read suggested Kingery’s time was numbered.

Bregman has 8 hits in the last 5 games. He's been more than fine this year and that's with a good share of bad luck.
Bregman has a swing that seems to produce a lot of fly balls gap to gap much like Busch. When it warms up they should be the centerpieces of our run production. Yes they both can jump on a pitch and crush it down the pull line but natural tends to be up the middle.

Add those two to Suzuki, Ballestareos Kelly PCA (when he’s clicking) and table setters like Hoerner and Shaw ( although both have shown nice power and this is a scary scary lineup.

Does Mo Baller even have competition for ROY?

Bullpen has been great considering all the injuries. Assad producing no matter where you put him. Yes I know one bad outing but CC hung him out to dry. Next month we should get Steele back be interesting to see what they do. Rea has been great.

He’s played 1B coming up. Don’t be surprised if he ends up there late in a game at some point. Let’s say we get to the bottom of the ninth down one two on two out. Busch up and they bring in a nasty lefty. Suzuki has the day off. Would you rather Busch take the AB or go with Seya?
