Audi Crooks to Transfer

Dang, she really is a lazy bum.
I get it, it sounds bad if she was riding a bike when her teammates were running.

But would be interested to know if that was an everyday situation. Audi hurt her knee during the 2024/25 season. So having her ride a bike vs. run sprints was probably wise and recommended by trainers. Why put more stress on the knee.

And a coach having practice exceptions for certain players to keep them fresh, protect from injury is not unheard of for a head coach. Just ask Fred Hoiberg.

But it could definitely an issue if Audi was viewed as not taking care of her body by teammates or coach communication to team was lacking.

I think if this got out...then at least a few of her teammates took notice and didn't like it. As far as the stress on the knee...just ask a few overweight guys what could have helped. I'll be the bad guy here....on a bike, knees hurting-an issue she is partly to blame for, going to OSU. She still gets a legacy with me, just not the one she probably wants.

Saw an article by Oklahoman behind pay wall so only could see 1st paragraph which talked about about the shock of audi not going to a blue blood but a non blue blood in her own conference.

It's because they gave her the most money. This was never about going somewhere to make her a better player but getting her the most coin.

Maybe. They evidently have lots of money to throw around. Audi got her bag of money. Smart move on Audi’s part to get a payday while she can IMO. $1.4 million is life changing money.
Depends on the person. There are all kinds of examples of sports folks that can't handle money well. Heck, the agent already has at least 10% of it.

Probably the best play on her part. I don't see her making it in the league.

Yeah I agree. Can be life changing but only if she’s wise with it. The 1.4 itself is not generational money.

What a rude comment. It is a good thing your not her advisor. She did the right thing and escaped from a dysfunctional situation. 1.4 million is meaningful. Kudos to Audie!!! The average salary in the WNBA is under 100K. The WNBA has few opportunities, and a small number of teams. The overseas womens basketball environment is unpredictable and can be a rugged lifestyle with low compensation. Ashley Joens as an example, was never able to secure a solid WNBA contract.

NIL: $1,400,000
Agent: $140,000
Taxes: $ 600,000
"Fun $": $ 60,000
Invest $: $ 600,000

edit: I forgot, according to the online posts I saw all season, she also buys new houses for the homeless, feeds poor people Thanksgiving and Christmas meals and dozens of other charitable acts. That will eat into her earnings. . . . . . . :jimlad:

Is this satire? She’ll still need a job for the next decade or two. Great start for her life but I am not dogging on her for leaving. Just that 1.4 is not set for life money by any means like even 5m could be. I’m glad she left if she didn’t want to be here but I am not going to pretend like she’s perfect either, don’t have to anymore now that she left.

Yes, $1.4 million is a pay day but in reality a good chunk will go to taxes. She better have a good financial advisor on helping direct money cause that money could be gone quickly if not handled with care. To me, it’s a lateral move to a similar school. I will root for Audi but not until she graduates and moves on.

Who are you? WHO are you?? Go back in your cave. Audie Crooks is a fine human being. She is deserving of this fine payday and has every right to accept it. She owes ISU, ZERO. Your comments are unnecessary and demeaning to what lowa State University stands for. I will always be a fan of Audie and appreciate her contributions to Iowa State.

How is that disparaging of Audi? An earlier post said that was not life changing money. I was just showing she will have $600k or so to carry forward in life. And then poking fun at all of the online AI posts during the season that said Audi was doing all of those charity acts. I think she is a great person with a great personality.

You may want to research before posting.
