**** Official 2026 MBB Spring Transfer Portal Thread ****

Toure should develop into primary athletic slasher.

Jaquan Johnson will drive opportunistically with force and craft (something like Lipsey but smaller)

Pleta's tape shows he can drive on and has a huge leap to take.

Singleton should be a threat inside, and will be more dangerous driving if his shot catches up to his potential
I would add that Batemon showed more slashing capability as the season went along and I think Wiggins has that in his game as well - people are sleeping on Wiggins, but he’s ranked about the same as Milan and Batemon and should be expected to play about as much as a freshman.

Yup. They have more rights and privileges than NBA and NFL players as, for one, they become a free agent after every season. Which makes me wonder how the NBA and the NFL are getting away with it. It seems to be a double standard. Not a legal expert, but it seems that at any point in time the courts dictate what the situation should be. So if the current situation in college athletics is what the courts have said that this is what it should then that's why is it so different than an NFL/NBA model as it pertains to players rights. If a player can put himself out every single year to the highest bidder why can't NFL/NBA players do that? I think the answer might be that because all these issues for the pro leagues have been litigated over the years and what you see there is how things are. But it's an evolving situation for college athletics and just hasn't got there yet. I would hope that the college situation at least morphs into a NFL/NBA model because what's going on now is simply insane and everybody knows it.
The other leagues have a collective bargaining agreement, which would mean the players become employees of the school and that is what they are trying to avoid. Unless they can come up with a system that allows them to be private contractors and bargaining, then it's not going to change.

For your analogy, we'd desperately need a true slasher that can take it to the rim, and I don't see anyone like that in our current visit list. Maybe the guard from Bradley, but he's awfully small. Does Big Daddy Kane have any eligibility left? ;)

Is 2017 Frank Mason from Kansas available? That dude was an absolute bulldog and could get to the rim on command. DeAndre Kane would work as well.

People on here saying Jefferson made Momcilovic is just ludicrous! Think about all the space Milan gave Jefferson to operate in the paint. Defenders were scared to death to leave Milan. Both players of course benefited from the other.

Iowa State's defense is not bear hug a player around every screen. There was a big difference over what refs let teams get away with on Milan.

Iowa State does get away with a lot of cylinder fouls that don't get called, though.
In essentially every double team, our players are making contact with the ball handler often pushing them. I've been surprised it isn't being called, though we're not the only ones doing it.

Sometimes we have a separate annual transfers thread, after portal season, but I'll post this here for reference anyway, after addition of Bond. If possible, I'll update this post as transfers in or out evolve, but I can't guarantee immediate revisions.

To the people saying Momcolivc can't create his own shot....Are you serious????The dude led the entire country in 3 point makes while ALSO leading the country in 3 point %. You don't think opposing coaching staffs and defenses know this? You don't think he is a marked man on every scouting report? Milan is a catch and shoot player. His movement without the ball and his ability to get loose in transition for an open 3 is incredible! Do you know how hard it is to get up 8-10 3 point shots a game when you are that targeted of an offensive player?

If opposing defenses want to face guard him great go for it. It ruins a team defense and opens ridiculous driving lanes. So much easier to score in the halfcourt playing 4v4 than 5v5. I compare it to having an elite receiver in football. Okay you want to double our elite receiver on every snap? Ok great means everyone else is getting 1 on 1 coverage and needs to take advantage of that. Milan is a force multiplier even when he's not scoring.
No, he can’t create his own shot. I guess outside of the dirk fadeaway, which happens maybe once a game at most. Still a really good player and super valuable, but creating your own shot requires being able to take people off the dribble, which he can’t really do.
