**** Official 2026 MBB Spring Transfer Portal Thread ****

Sheesh the Milan bashing on Two Guys was out of control. The way they were talking about him makes me think he's gone. You'd have thought Milan averaged 8 points and only made wide open threes all season. He averaged 17 points per game! He was the best shooter in the country! Really disappointed in the way he was discussed. He deserves way more respect. We had our Cyclone voice questioning his toughness! Unreal.

Seriously?

I think you might be overthinking things at this point. We need the draft deadline to get here. I fully expect Milan back unless he commits to the draft.
This. The timing of the transfer portal relative to NBA draft evaluations can be very dicey for college programs. If Milan gets good feedback from NBA ppl, then it would be great to know that early in the portal window so TJ and staff can find a way to replace Milan's production in the aggregate through portal additions (There is no replacement for Milan!)

Really don't like this. He looked like he could have been a premiere offensive player for us. Not sure the backstory but I'd rather have him than anyone visiting this weekend other than maybe Singleton. Going to have to pray Milan comes back...
Hot first take - welcome to CF

Which game gave you an indication of his potential?

Seriously?

I didn’t think so. Not sure why people on here get so butt hurt by Iowa everywhere.

Most of the discussion was around the difficult position the timing of this puts everyone in.

Also, Milan could command over $3.5M. He objectively can’t create when he’s an opposing teams #1 focus. With Jefferson & Tamin gone, and all that money off ISUs limited budget tied up in one player who can’t create… is that even the best recipe for success?

Of course we’d want him back if we can.

It was all fair to me.

Saying can't create is just not true when he can get to that Fadeaway against anyone.

The BYU game is different to me because I'm not sure what anyone expected when we just let Dybantsa play 1 on 1. There's not a 2-4 in the country Dybansta can't lock down if you just let him play 1 on 1.

Take a look at the AZ game in the B12 tourney... They realized Milan was hot and decided for one godforsaken time they would run him off more screens and draw more plays for him and he drops 28 against one of the best teams in the country. I see a lot of fans love to say he cant create and while there is some truth to that, he still averaged the most points on the team over JJeff and Tamin who both had the ball in their hands more than him and even with a few rough games.

I agree, probably don't want to pay him any more than JJeff got last year, and certainly not what the current market is saying he may be worth.

I just get sick of hearing the "He can't create" narrative when our coaching staff was notoriously bad and scheming up a counter a defender wearing him like a shirt.

Watch his tape coming out of Eastern Washington. Now factor that in with the time he's gotten at practice this year and the work he's done with TJ's staff to develop and tell me I'm wrong.

So a tape (still waiting to know which game(s) you would point to) of a player coming out of a Big Sky school that hasn't played for over a year has you more excited than a player that ISU faced directly or players coming out of the MVC with tape from the last year.

And your trump card is his practice time at ISU - his one month of practice time.

I am sure Williams is a good player. I am sure he would have played some at ISU if we had troubles recuiting up.

But yes, you are absolutely wrong to suggest he would be better than all 5 of the players we have coming in and others we might not be aware of yet.

And we know this because the one person who knows this better than anyone is Williams and if he some some notable playing time in his future he wouldn't be in the portal.

With that said, you must be quite passionate about this and must be devastated Williams is transferring - it actually caused you to join up and make such a claim. Looking forward to more of your takes.

All these people downplaying Milan’s contribution, saying he can’t create, have to be deliberately blocking out the stretch last year when he was out and the team got completely bogged down. Milan on the floor makes it so others can create and not deal with a clogged lane. Milan can’t control Heise, Tamin, and Batemon not making the open shots they’re getting because he’s drawing so much attention. Or that they continually get swatted at the rim. It’s TJ’s job to get players that can take advantage of Milan’s gravitational pull.

I thought it was strange as well.

At one point they pretty much said he would struggle next year because Jefferson created all of his open looks.

C'mon man! At one point in the season, when Milan was dialed in, I recall Chris Williams saying no Cyclone has EVER played at a higher level than Milan Momcilovic. Ever! And now the discussion today was it isn't that big of a blow if he leaves?

Lipsey and Jefferson were great players clearly. If we sign Johnson and Singleton and one of the freshman really pops Momcilovic will yet again be surrounded by really good players. Players improve as well. If Singleton signs, I love the fact we'd have four players making that freshman to sophomore jump (Toure, Batemon, Pleta, Singleton).

I don't know I came away disappointed as well. If I had to guess CW is likely just trying to soften the blow here and knows Milan is gone. Hope I'm wrong!

I never said he would be better than all 5 guys coming to visit. I clearly was going off potential and what I've seen on his tape vs. the 4 guards coming to visit. I'll leave singleton out of it because he's not a guard.

I like his tape and measurables better than the other 4 coming to visit when you factor in who we have returning and who we are losing. That being said, if the reason he's leaving is because TJ told him there won't be much time for him/he wasn't good in practice then so be it, I'm good with that.

Have you contacted TJ? I think we are still looking for another coach
