**** Official 2026 MBB Spring Transfer Portal Thread ****

Maybe this has been asked before, but I’m not entirely sure where the line is drawn between revenue share and scholarship allotment. If we’re limited to 13 scholarships with 2 walk-ons (total of 15), we’ll need to be very selective this weekend. If it’s a full 15 spots regardless of scholarship status due to revenue sharing, that gives us a bit more flexibility to consider some of the transfers who are visiting.
I think that answer lies strictly as budgetary. Arkansas had somewhere between 18-20 scholarship quality players a year or two ago. So NIL to non scholarship enrollees isn’t outside the rules of this lawless era.

From my understanding we get 13 scholarships, and the roster limit is 15. But since you can give a non-scholarship guy the equivalent of a scholarship as part of his payment package and then still give them more money on top of that, the difference doesn’t matter all that much in the grand scheme of things.

Historically we’ve been at 13 or fewer of the scholarship-level guys anyways since only 8 or 9 are usually going to play. I’m not sure if that will change this year now that TJ apparently has a bigger budget or what the plan will be. Guess we’ll see.

Okay, that is good to know. Thanks!

Everyone's talking about Milan to the NBA and IMO, that's his third option. Right now I think its 1. he transfers and gets a bag (would be the highest paid SF). 2. he sticks around at ISU and his NIL goes to like 2.5, or he leaves for the NBA. I dont want him transferring, but I'm sure he's wanting to compete for a natty and get a bag, and i dont think we could provide both at ISU. Just my two cents

Why can't Iowa State compete for a national title and pay Momcilovic?

We were a top 5ish team all year long and a 2 seed in the NCAA tournament. If Momcilovic comes back, we return 5 of the 8 rotational pieces. Land two immediate impact transfers and hope 1-2 of the freshman can play at this level there is no reason to think we arent a preseason top 10 team.

If terms of financials, we can pay Milan!

Looking through the 247 Sports transfer tracker - some names I hadn't seen mentioned (sorry if I missed them)

Pop Isaacs is back in the portal ... again. He was at TAMU this year (I had no idea)

Collin Chandler, the 3pt shooter from Kentucky, is going to BYU - he's from Utah and was a BYU recruit who followed Pope.

OSU has 7 guys in the portal, which combined with seniors means that everyone who played meaningful minutes is gone (again)

Kansas has 7 guys in the portal, and the only player who played meaningful minutes not in the portal is Rosario.

Hoping we can land a Fizer type guy to clear out the lane. We seem a bit on the small side at times.

Sheesh the Milan bashing on Two Guys was out of control. The way they were talking about him makes me think he's gone. You'd have thought Milan averaged 8 points and only made wide open threes all season. He averaged 17 points per game! He was the best shooter in the country! Really disappointed in the way he was discussed. He deserves way more respect. We had our Cyclone voice questioning his toughness! Unreal.
