Hard to disagree with Ayres too much. Feel bad for him, but that is the way it is right now. Also, I see he failed to mention grad school which is supposedly a significant challenge for some of these guys.

When there is all the talk about who could replace Brands, or any major coach, I’m surprised Ayres isn’t brought up. He has done a lot at two programs without the history or resources. That is someone I’d take a serious look at if I was a an AD.

When Dresser retires, I wouldn’t be upset at all if Ayres is the head coach and David Carr is associate head or something like that.

Our next HC is already on staff and this guy doesn’t exactly love ISU at the moment.

He acts like if he had the funding he wouldn’t dip his toes in the Portal to get guys. Give me a break, he’d do it just like every other coach does including Cael.

You’re definitely not wrong there but they are definitely in a better spot with some of these portal adds.

I feel like their portal adds thus far arent much better (if at all) than what they lost.

My opinion only though and I could certainly be wrong.

Oh I understand what he is saying. I’m saying that he’d do the same thing if one he wasn’t at Stanford and two if he had the financial backing.

Also, his brother placed 3rd at 126 and is a Senior. So he will provide some much needed depth at 125/133.

At this point, he’s not providing depth at 125, he providing at least having a wrestler at 125.

At least now we have 2. Vandermark & him. We will get a stud in the portal. I’m more worried about getting a quality #2 guy at 125.

Lets not sleep on Thunder being a 4x placer and Wyatt so far has be a 3x placer. This is in CA so one class is pretty cool.

Idk but if you read anywhere other than here we’ll have more Stanford starters in our lineup than former ISU starters.
