Is the thought that mason Williams can be a reserve guard?

I think we need another veteran guard as the two freshman are not elite prospects, so expectations should be limited. I know Toure was around their ranking, but he is also a year older than Grey and Wiggins

It is obvious that some of the posters on CF would be really difficult to shop for during the Christmas gift exchange. The " wish list" is demanding to say the least.
Reminder to check out our past signings during the portal with what to expect this offseason.

Does Mason Williams slot in at the 1, 2 or 3? Or wherever he is needed? Seems like we need an experienced 4 most of all, and an experienced guard 2nd most (the type depending on where Williams is likely to be).
He's a 1 or 2, and probably both next year. He was the primary ball handler at his previous school but also can spot up when needed. I could see toure and Williams out there a lot together. Nice size backcourt

Based on opponent matchups, I could see Williams play the 3. Especially if his 3 point shot bumps up with a year off.

TJ played Heise at 3 some this season. And in past years not uncommon to have Lipsey, Gilbert & CuJo on court together.

Agree
I just watched some of his highlights (which can be deceptive) but he looked like a classic combo. Able to play 1 or 2. Whenever that’s the case, I always assume they are better as a 2.

They need to target some bigs in the portal. ISU is slated to return Toure, Batemon, Williams, Milan (unless he turns pro), Buchanan, and Pleta.

There are 4 incoming freshmen (2 centers, a PG, and a SG). I don’t know enough about these players and who may be in the rotation for next season. But generally the bigs take a year or two to develop more physically before seeing playing time, but there are exceptions

I think Pleta has potential to develop much more. He made an unbelievable pass last night. Hopefully he can routinely make those kinds of plays and develops his offensive game where he can extend the defense out

But they need another big or two who can step in right away into the rotation. I would greatly prefer them to target the 4/5 position than the 1-3 positions in the portal
Pleta is a big from Europe, which automatically means he can shoot the three. I'm joking, but in all seriousness it would be nice if he could develop a pick-and-pop out 16-17 feet.

He is a 5-9 backup in the B12 whose size gets exploited in the B12 and his PT will be limited. And his lack of length is a liability in the ISU trap D. RevShare/NIL resources are better spent on other players. UNI could better use him, in fact, UNI taller guards got the best of him at Arch Madness.
Where are people getting 5'-9" from? Bradley's site and ESPN both list him at 5'-11".
