**** Official 2026 MBB Spring Transfer Portal Thread ****

We need a power forward, Tre King or a Jefferson would be nice. I’m hoping another Jefferson sees how we developed and used him and thinks we are a good place
I really like a Jo Jo Tugler type. An absolute maniac on the glass. A guy that can do the garbage work and love it. I don’t care how tall they are. A 6’7 quick leaper would do here. Someone to crack heads. If they have Jo Jo’s chops big time bonus.

I don't know. After last night, real hesitant about getting any smaller
Considering our three leading rebounders last night were Lipsey/Toure/Heise, I wouldn’t be worried about size at the guard spots. Far more important to add wings/forwards who can clean up on the glass.

IMO, how active ISU will be in the portal will depend a lot on who leaves. And how much money ISU has to spend.

Jefferson & Lipsey's rev share comes off the books. But I expect Toure, Bateman and Pleta will expect big bumps. And guys like Momcilovic and Buchanon will probably ask for more than 2025/26. Just a reality of the marketplace.

TJ might be relying a lot on the incoming recruits. Kiss & Rinaldo-Komlan are both international kids and played at US prep schools. Kiss looks like a physical 4 and Rinaldo-Komlan a rim protector.

In Gray & Wiggins TJ has to hope he has guards who can play defense. To expect one to have a Toure level impact is a bit much, but if one can have a Batemon type impact, I think TJ would be happy.

The Frenchman could be a project however he’s an absolute freak athlete so who knows. Can we hope for some freshman production like Toure? Maybe, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Jackson Kiss is someone I could see seeing some minutes at the four because he’s big, strong and has a tremendous IQ. He’s a great passer for his size.

I would guess we’re going to focus on a starting stretch 4. A starting guard, and then we’ll figure out that third spot. I’d love another athletic 4/5 (mostly because of last night’s mismatch) but I’m sure the staff knows.
I'm high on both freshman bigs- the Frenchman is 6'11 with a 7 foot + wing span who is super athletic. And left handed. We don't have anything like him on the current roster. Kiss game reminds me of Jefferson's - skilled, good passer, nice face up/drive. Appears to be a bit more athletic than Jefferson but doesn't shoot it as well. These are my opinions by watching their highlight film.

needless to say it will be a younger bunch next year, (at least in class application) 4 freshmen, and 3 starting sophs/or first off bench sophs. Age wise I know they are older

Completely agree with the Kiss analysis. He reminds me a lot of JJ but with better hops. Someone posted he is a rugby player and has only played basketball for four years. I have read that he is very physical. Maybe he will get some minutes like Pleta.

I thought Buchanan was really good overall this year but he got eaten alive by TN’s bigs.

The big difference from last night was Tennessee’s bulk. Those guys weren’t just tall, they were brick shithouses. No way Buchanan or Pleta can match up with that.
He didn't have a good game, but not having Jefferson hurt him. We were only playing 1 big on the floor while Tennessee had 3.

I suppose. I still have nightmares of Tyler Harris trying to create during the season we don't like to talk about

Jefferson is really good in the middle of the floor and collapses the defense for open kick outs. Definitely much harder without him especially against a team like Tennessee. I’d take another Jefferson type player if one is available

Most of the teams remaining have bigs who have size and can rebound. ISU got outrebounded 42-18 last night. We need someone who can move while eating up a lot of space.

So you figure Jefferson probably gets 10 last night healthy with the amount of missed shots. Which makes the total 32-28. Against that team that would have been pretty good
