WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

When this is all said and done I think we are left with AJ, Paulk and maybe Audi. So plenty of openings to go around.

I haven't done the "research ', but off the top of my head it seems like all the gals that have transferred went on to play for a team that had a coach that was a woman. Just was curious if that was a fact.
Maybe true but most of the coaches in women's basketball are women

Think Jada was the saving grace for Bill last year, so unexpected of match for him that lived up to the hype and honestly kept the season afloat. If she leaves I don’t see how they can build enough around Audi to stay relevant. Hope I’m wrong.

Bill had been running off players, for good or bad, for decades. Mostly because of his coaching style, i think. This or next year has to be it for ny fellow Dport-ian. Then nation wide search.

I mean, what legacy? The last couple years are anything but memorable. Teams that started with high expectations, rising to the top 10 in the early season, only to finish unranked and without a win in the R64.

Can't say I'd blame any of them for using their last year of eligibility to get a nice little paycheck to start post-college life with and to maybe have a special season trying something new somewhere else. Its not like they just fell short, which would give more motivation to run it back.

Three years of playing second fiddle to Crooks isn't much of a legacy. She was a pre-season pick to be 1st team All-Big 12 so the coaches see her as a star and she will likely find a good landing spot.

Those are the 3 Ive heard will stay. AJ and Paulk are the only two on the team who haven't reposted anyone else's announcements. Audi reposted only the ones Ive heard would've left no matter what.(didn't repost Beaty or Brown)

Whatever falling out in that locker room that happen within the last month was bad

I like Paulk, but I’m confused for why so many people assume she’s coming back given her PT.

Think she’s a perfect fit for what we need and if she could be a 30% FT shooter, would be exactly what we need.

I think a bigger discussion is, which is more important? Do we want Audi to stay so that she finishes her career here. I don't think she's gonna have much of a WNBA career so she should take as much money as she can get now. And who knows that maybe staying at Iowa State. But I know for a fact, Bil can't build a winner around her as he's shown for three years. She scored 30 and gives up 30 and they've not been able to come up with a defense that works to hide her. Or do we wish her well and hope she gets on with a great team, but she probably won't be the focus. It's one of the oddest situations I've seen in sport. Hometown girl, state loves her, super talented in one aspect of her game. And a huge liability in the other. I think she's been such an amazing role model/spokesperson/ambassador for the game that you ride it out for one more year. But it's hard to watch when our team is playing 4 on 5 as she can't even get back on a made basket before the other team is down the court

If those are the 3 leftovers, do you really think Bill wants to go out and recruit at least 6 transfers for his last season at ISU? Those 6 will likely be mid/low major or D2 types with one year left. Do you think he wants to put Audi and AJ through their last season likely being non competitive in B12 play?

I have my doubts he will go through it and will instead retire a year earlier than planned with a $750K parting gift.

I got no indication the Staff was moving on.

It says a lot that you have the Donarski/Fritz transfers, then Bristow and Kelsey Joens, now this year with Addy. In a span of 4 seasons. All ended up at other P5 programs including two transferring inside the B12. You’re not talking about players who couldn’t cut it at this level. Some people will tolerate a lot from a coach as long as they believe they’re gonna win. When that doesn’t happen, there isn’t any other reason tying them to a program or a place. I think that’s what we are seeing here. The program has been trying to sell a vision of deep postseason runs but doesn’t have the ability to develop the teams to get there. There is a hard ceiling. The really talented players are coming to understand this and are finding off-ramps.

We will be on 10 straight years of just feed the ball to 1 person offense. Don't know why Bill went this way after 20 years but he wont leave it

I mean, I know it would cost the AD money they likely don’t have, but at what point does pollard say enough is enough and the staff no longer decides their fate? Losing all but 2-3 players (assuming the rumors are true) points to a much bigger issue around the program that moves the needle from Bill deciding his timeline to immediate action by the AD.
