WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

No player is irreplaceable in today's game. I not saying losing an Audi, Addy or Jada would be a positive. But revenue share/NIL is a double edge sword. In the portal/rev share era, every coach has to be able to attract elite players in the portal in situations where they lose elite players.

IMO the WBB team's success next year will be about roster construction of the top 8-9 players. Getting consistent production from that top group.
If we had a good 8, that would be more than we've had in a while.

Why Iowa? She's from Kansas, right? I would think OU or KU or KSU.
Why not Iowa? She came from Kansas to Ames, right?
She committed here because she said she “liked the offense.” Well since that didn’t work out, I’d bet Iowa’s more free-flowing offense will appeal to her.
Or Duke? Her sister Kennedy loved Duke and playing for Kara Lawson.

There’s tough conversations to have about funding more than the minimum on programs outside football and men’s basketball. Even with great fan support programs like wrestling and especially women’s basketball and are so far from those at top. Obviously you have to fund football as the bloodline and men’s basketball is a national contender.
Wrestling does not have a funding problem imo. They aren’t at the very top but def top 10 in spending for wrestling. Dresser fundraises with the best of them

Aren't there only like 10 big D1 wrestling programs?

ISU, UI, OSU, OSU, PSU, OU... Minnesota(?) UNI, uh, Lehigh...

IK there's more and I'm kind of joking, but my point stands. Top 10 is like 50th percentile in wrestling...

There are definitely less teams yes but being 8th in fiscal spending more specifically is not 50th percentile. Also didn’t account for NIL which Iowa state is a major player in

Disagree - if we keep on employing one trick pony offense, no matter how good the rosters are, it will be useless

Just hope Addy doesn’t end up at Iowa.
I predict Oklahoma State. I was sitting by someone from the Poke's AD department at KC. He mentioned how they got Haleigh Timmer from South Dakota State to transfer to Stillwater for her Senior season. He said they "wanted her" after the Jacks had beaten the Pokes in the NCAA tournament the year before. Crazy times out there...

This **** show is on Bill. What a waste of talent. First Emily Ryan’s class and now Addy’s class. No development, no real success. No plan to have a healthy program after Bill retires. Selfish.

What would that plan look like?

Whenever Bill retires, there is going to be a major rebuild, We've seen that around college sports when the current coach moves on. Look at Iowa State football or Hawkeye mens basketball.

The only way the women's basketball program wasn't going to go through a rebuild was if a member of the current staff was named new head coach. aka Jan Jensen with the Hawk women.

Completely agree. Sorry I wasn't clear. We need a solid top 8 who bring consistent production game-to-game. That allows for an offense that isn't reliant on Audi.
