WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

just can’t imagine throwing away a legacy at a place after 3 years that’s a pretty darn good women’s basketball school to bail for a one year rental. As good as she can be don’t see the true blue bloods going hard after her. So it’s seems to be a fringe school with a major offer, or we have a coaching problem.

100% agreed and if we lose Addy, she's irreplaceable. There's nowhere to go but down, no matter how rosy anyone tries to make that. Hopefully it's not something that happens, but it's just not feasible.

No player is irreplaceable in today's game. I not saying losing an Audi, Addy or Jada would be a positive. But revenue share/NIL is a double edge sword. In the portal/rev share era, every coach has to be able to attract elite players in the portal in situations where they lose elite players.

IMO the WBB team's success next year will be about roster construction of the top 8-9 players. Getting consistent production from that top group.

Addy was as important or more to our success than Audi. With more coaching and help, I think she'll be a good piece for any team that wants her. Maybe the true blue bloods won't go after her, but plenty of good teams who can make S16-E8 runs might.

I'm simply saying that believing that it will result in more success than what we've had is going to be a fool's errand by losing any of the 3.

I mean, what legacy? The last couple years are anything but memorable. Teams that started with high expectations, rising to the top 10 in the early season, only to finish unranked and without a win in the R64.

Can't say I'd blame any of them for using their last year of eligibility to get a nice little paycheck to start post-college life with and to maybe have a special season trying something new somewhere else. Its not like they just fell short, which would give more motivation to run it back.

sucks to see people leave but the ceiling lately has been first round exit so maybe we need some changes

Bummer but not surprised at all. She’s has the best chance of anyone on our roster to play in the WNBA. She may not have felt she’d get the coaching/development she needed here.

She has plenty to work on in her defensive game and consistency but she’s gonna be a huge addition for somebody.

Welp that is very disappointing. Time for Bill to just hang it up so a new coach can work the portal.

Don’t disagree with anything you said, but if money or national title was the main objective could have left last year, we thought we could have made a better run but we’re obviously never a serious contending threat. I guess I thought in non revenue sports might still but something to having an Alma mater you could go back to and those relationships not to mention we are a very supportive women’s basketball school . But obviously I’m delusional, or something else behind the scenes went wrong. Probably both.
