Iowa looked gassed going into the second OT while Virginia looked reenergized.
Yeah, I agree. Not sure how you look at Jensen's teams' performance and say "wow she doesn't know what she's doing." I hate it but Iowa's recruiting has been amazing, and they outperformed preseason expectations this year by quite a bit.
They sort of overachieved in the Big Ten to get that #2 seed but really stumbled their last three games. Still, anytime you host and don't make the Sweet Sixteen it's a big lost opportunity. They certainly didn't look like a #2 in March but once you get below LSU in the team ranks who would you have elevated above them? Maybe Duke should have been a #2 based on their March so far but that's a little bit of hindsight. Losing their best three point shooter maybe caught up with them. And not having who looked like a top guard off the bench in Rodriguez. Assuming Rodriguez is transferring out in a move that's likely agreed to mid-season. And Deal, star guard recruit, not looking at all like a five-star.
I watched both of their games in the tournament, and something just seemed off with the team. The energy level was low and they weren’t hitting shots that they normally hit.
Agree and in a couple I noticed Jan getting in the players face at time outs
Would agree that this year we either really good or really bad shooting the ball. Very few games were we just average.
Kristy Curry (remember her from Texas Tech?) is the new HC at USF. Not even fired by Alabama...just left.
That is a strange one. Guessing didn't get along with the administration or just wanted to get the heck out of Tuscaloosa to live elsewhere.

As I’ve now said many times, I haven’t posted on an Iowa message board since the old one, the big one that I posted on for 20 years got absorbed… Last year there were all kinds of idiots when they went on that six game losing streak that wanted her fired…
This is a hot button for me and the biggest reason why I am the way I am. I routinely say when I asked out here in Chicago land, Yes I am a fan of Iowa, just not their ****** fans. I have long grow tired of their constant ******** about coaches. Unfortunately it’s not just an Iowa thing (been here when people wanted Campbell gone & don’t say it didn’t happen because it did) so therefore I just get tired of fans in general.
So yes, there were undoubtably plenty of fans that wanted her fired… But some of you may know this, there were plenty of people before Caitlin showed up that wanted Bluder fired.
My personal opinion… This was a good Iowa team, but they over achieved to a degree. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have beat Virginia, they should have, but I think Jensen is a hell of a coach and Iowa’s upside is higher with her than it’s ever been because she takes defense seriously!

But let me just point out what you’ve said here they peaked in mid February 11 February 11th they got their first win after three straight losses. They then went on to win 8 straight and like what nine of their last 11 something like that. I mean it just doesn’t even make sense. Yes they blew it. They lost, but they weren’t over seeded
I can only assume the fact that Iowa was seeded 2nd and got publicity makes a rival mad and that’s why they’d say such a thing but it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Before I made a comment like this, I’d actually go & look to see what mid February looked like.
I’m a conversationalist and a debater by nature I would never make this comment without double checking my facts… And all confess I did not realize there were still that large affection of people that just get pissed if anything gets said positively about their rival but this… Here… Makes zero sense.
If you wanted to say Iowa peaked at the end of the year before the tournament fine hell I can agree with that, but mid February was the start of an eight game-winning streak over ranked tournament teams…

This is “THE” exact example of why I don’t get why fans ever open their mouths. I still remember when Iowa was lost to Northwestern St, I would never call out another program about a number two seed losing to a 15 seed… I just don’t get it and that was one hell of an Iowa State team.
Whatever, how often does a 2 lose in the Women's NCAA on there home court. Like 3 times in History? The 51 pt UCLA beat down should have shown they were a weak 2 seed. Heck Okie St Women lost to UCLA in the round ofv32 on UCLA's floor by 19.
