WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

Took a channel flip out of our MBB game for a brief peek for the last couple of minutes of Gophers game. Shot that sent Gophers to Sweet Sixteen for first time in 20 years.

Big 12 teams not having a good day. Tech got blasted by LSU 101-47. Not that TT was going to win, or even come close, but a 54 point spread?

Duke has held Baylor to 16 freakin' points in the 1st half and leads 38-16. So much for that early season win over Duke in Paris.

#3 TCU is favored by 10 or so over #6 Washington.

TTech shot even worse than ISU did. 25% overall. Not that I wouldn’t mind having Bristow back, but she hasn’t done much lately. 0 points today on one shot and turned it over five times.

Big 12 was ripe for the taking this year. West Va should probably win tomorrow but Okie St wont. That leaves 2 teams… should’ve been ISUs year

TCU looked inconsistent, especially Miles, last night. Was similar to the ISU TCU game. She was nowhere much of the game and turned it on just enough to eek them by Washington. Their posts drive me nuts with the constant moving screens that never get called.

I noticed that what is sometimes called a moving screen and then again they ignore it. I thought if your stance stance was wider than you hips it was a foul and I saw many screens that was the case and no call.

I don’t know if you watch much WNBA but it’s a constant problem. I swear 80% of the screens they run are moving… And I’m not talking rivalry **** about teams I don’t like. The Fever set plenty of moving screens all the time too. Although I will give Aaliyah Boston credit, she’s a terrific player and an awesome human being and she generally puts effort into decent screens, but she’s probably the only one and not always….

The guards ,and I include CC in that, hell they’re never “screening people” They’re just literally running into each other.

Women’s Basketball in all honesty is a disaster. Starting with jump balls. I don’t know if you happen to have daughters that played high school basketball but holy crap you can come down with a rebound, the other girl quickly puts a hand on the ball and in a microsecond it’s a jump….Worse than that, you can come down with a rebound, then your opponent can reach around you, completely displace you and as long as she gets her hands around the ball, regardless of initial contact, it’s a jump.

As you already know college is only marginally better & the WNBA more of the same.

But the moving screens, the flopping (again CC) the ******** (again CC:puke: ;)) the twirly finger, which has become a meme of its own, the over the top physicality & then all of a sudden, they are calling touch fouls on the perimeter while people are getting lead-piped inside. In a world of questionable officiating, women’s basketball is the worst!

WBB is top heavy to begin with. Add in the top 4 seeds getting to play at home, and the first 2 rounds are just about meaningless. As a very casual WBB viewer, that makes searching out these early rounds games very far down on my list.

Your base has to be shoulder width, you can’t lean in, you can’t load up your shoulder or forearm, and you shouldn’t be moving or late…there is “some” objectivity, but what they let go in the 1st quarter often becomes a foul later and vice versa.

It's the worst and most inconsistent call in the game. I hope they take a serious look at it during the off season. If I were a coach I'd be scared to ever run a high screen because it gets called so often.
