***Official 2026 NCAA Tournament Thread***

Even if Iowa makes it to the elite 8 there is no question who has the better basketball program right now. Much as I love March madness, the single elimination on neutral site format sends some elite teams home early and you’ve got some good but not great teams that make a run.

Others will disagree but I don’t see us competing a lot for the same recruits and we play in different conferences. Both of our teams being good and the rivalry being mewningful does not do any harm to our program. One could argue it’s good for it.

It's in no one's head. Only a doucher suckeye would say something that blatantly ridiculous. The media in central Iowa has been begging for 30 years to hyper slob on suckeye basketball in March.

I think I'm most bummed to see a Cyclone fansite troll using Dedric's name. My favorite Cyclone of all time.

Growing 'older' in central Iowa constantly reinforces the fantanticism, e.g., the suckeye slant that permeates everything and everywhere on every airwave or media account. It's a virus. suckeye fandom is a virus. And now the virus lives on another week. That factually sucks.
I gotta crash. ISU won so it's been a good day. I'm sorry Iowa winning overshadowed that for a lot of you.

So will Nebraska-Iowa & Texas-Purdue be the early games and Illinois-Houston & Arizona-Arkansas be the late games Thursday? Or will they try to split up the 2 best games being played somewhat at the same time?

I believe Iowa only has one high school recruit signed for this cycle

If it's Michigan-Alabama I would guess we would probably be the early Chicago game Friday but maybe not.

The last three decades show out for ISU.

If they get decent, fine. It will be less annoying on the years they win Cyhawk.
