*** Official Kentucky vs #6 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

Need him in the 2nd! Slashing to the lane is open. And they are fouling layups
Driving the ball has been very effective, particularly Lipsey. That's Nelson's game. Glad that TJ and the staff can keep a guy engaged and prepared for the moment.

Really…. I guess I would understand that if it was Iowa State’s claim to fame. But they ride and die with defense, the three-point shooting is just icing.
Yeah we’re a great defensive team but being 3-16 from 3 doesn’t usually bode well for a dub so the fact we’re up is great. There’s also some weird voodoo magic with Heise hitting 3s and the rest of the team starting to knock em down. Let’s go

I'm hoping we see another case of the defense wearing the other team down, they shoot worse in the second half, and we pull away

Important stat: Moreno has 2 fouls.

He's a big reason ISU has missed close looks.

Hope thry can get some action to get him off his spot a bit.

Did they much? Or do you just face a team a few times a year that can't miss no matter what you throw at them? Looks the same to me. You just hope when the opponents entire team can't miss its not in the NCAA tournament.
It's not, trap is different...It's subtle but they are much more selective when they trap

We held our own on rebounding too without JJ... 18 rebounds for both teams. I thought that might be a lot worse. Of course, if we had JJ... we'd be up in the rebounding though.

Ive been saying this for 3 years but was told after the loss to Tech at home we needed to ditch the way we play defense. There are few in the country that play D like us.
The only time I get frustrated with it is when we stick to trapping too long against a team that can shoot the 3. Otherwise the strategy keeps us in 95% of games.

Getting close to the second half and nerves are flaring up again. Please let’s get a strong start to help the heart rate. Pretty please!
