*** Official Kentucky vs #6 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

It's the same as every game. We have to apply the pressure. Kentucky seems like a team that might not respond well to a team that punches them in the mouth. If we start the game looking tentative on offense and tip toing around the lane, I'll be concerned. Tamin and Toure have to set the tone.

Hit some early shots so we can get back into our defense.

That's just about the same spot on the floor that JJeff got injured too isn't it? Is this floor cursed?

Yeah, they start a 6-11 and a 7-0 guy. Then 6-5 and below. So if Heise gets the start, are they gonna chase Milan around the perimeter with a 6-11 guy or chase Heise around with a 6-11 guy?

They'll try and work things down low I'd imagine on offense with our shorter lineup but with double teams, we'll force them into more 3's that hopefully they don't hit.
UK not a big 3pt team: Get only 30.2% of their points from 3 and hit 34.2% from 3... good for 216th and 165th in the nation respectively for those two stats.

Of course, it would be the most Iowa State thing ever for some little used, UK sub to come off the bench and go 8/10 from 3.

Boy is the halftime crew of the Purdue game all over Kentucky and the upset. Seth Davis looks happy his Blue Blood might win. I hope we clean their click.
Hopefully the recording of this is getting played in the ISU locker room. This competitive nature of the leadership on this team will respond with maximum effort.

It's on us to keep it that way. If they end up shooting really well, it will not be "bad luck" - it will be because our rotations and close-outs are not good enough. Any P4 team will make a bunch of 3's if they get confidence, confidence that comes from getting good looks.

I posted that back in 2012 because that is what it felt like. Kentucky was a towering Goliath.

This time it is different. ISU is the better team. Hard stop folks-ISU is the better team, the better seed, and had been more highly ranked all season.

Could ISU lose? Of course. Is Iowa State diminished by the loss of Jefferson. Absolutely.

But there is no need to whine and piss and moan about what scares us. If ISU plays like it is capable, even without JJeff, ISU will win the ******* game. IS what TJ has in place capable of compensating for the loss of an All American player? Will the players rise up to the moment. I don't know, but Im excited to see what happens.

We should fear no one this year.
Need to see Cyclone's best Ball Pressure and Perimeter Defense from our guards. UK is good offensively, but not great (52nd in Offensive efficiency, 68th in TO per possession): they are long and talented but erratic. Rattle them early, get in their heads, get a big lead and we'll be in great shape. If we are not consistently disrupting them defensively, we're in trouble.

Do they have a Baylor-esque, non athletic looking white guy on the roster? If so, were doomed
