***2026-27 Mens College Basketball Thread***

I have a feeling the committee will have them in in a play in game as its just hard to say no to an undefeated regular season, but its also hard to ignore their absolutely horrendous SOS. The committee could validly say they don't want to reward that as it may encourage others to adopt equally weak schedules. I mean, how many other at large teams have zero quad 1 wins and only one win in quad 2A? How many teams that will be left out could be sitting with 0-1 losses as well if they had the same schedule?
No matter how bad their non conference schedule was they still had to go undefeated in a decent (not top) mid major. Plus winning that many games on the road has to count for something.

Need someone to talk me off a ledge. Just rewatched the game last night. Elite vibes for this program right now and I honestly believe this ISU team is of final 4 caliber
They’ve been like this since November/December.

Seeing them in person early, it was evident this team had that extra juice to take them to new heights.

Last night was a Championship Fight.

As for the Final Four, I truly believe if we win the Sweet 16 game, we will win the elite eight game.

Just have to keep the Run of a Lifetime going!

But that's just giving them extra credit for being a mid major at that point instead of evaluating their resume evenly to other teams. It might be an accomplishment for them to finish with 1 loss against their schedule, but there's a bunch of teams that could do the same but chose to schedule more difficult. I mean, those road games are, at best, to NET 127 and Net 134.

Picking a random team- Oklahoma State went undefeated in Q3 and Q4, and had 4 wins better than Miami's best win (a home win against net 53 Akron), including a win over net 23 BYU and an away win at net 52 UCF. They won't be in because they played 13 quad 1 games and lost most of them (Its highly likely Miami loses all of them).

Karchenkov & Dell'Orso had to play their freaking brains out to beat ISU. If either of them are just average, ISU wins fairly easily.

Karchenkov has 0 points at half and Dell'Orso has 4 points. Combined 1 for 4 shooting. Lulz. Of course they're invisible vs HOU.
I think we had to pick our poison against Arizona. We controlled Burries and Peat but Arizona is too good to stop everyone. Props to those two for stepping up against us. I’ll like our chances if we play them again

Milan also doubled his average number of threes made per game, so there's that too.

One of the big problems is P4 teams are not playing good mid and low major teams. I say until the P4 reverses course I wholeheartedly favor giving at large bids to mid majors that go through their regular season undefeated.

Yeah, very hard for someone like Miami to find teams that will play them.

That's what they claim, but its more likely they're simply asking too much for buy games or similar deals. And its not just on the P4- someone like Miami could be scheduling better mid-major opponents in the noncon. The only way you get to their schedule is intentionally so.

If those P4 teams are replacing those games with other P4 teams that’s a net benefit though.

It’s the teams that have a horribly weak non con by dodging alot of real competition that I have an issue with
