*** Official #7 IOWA STATE vs #2 Arizona Game(Day) Thread ***

Just noticed that within seconds of that last shot going down, Tamin went and gave Toure a hand slap for his great defense. Now that is a great leader when that's what you think to do in that moment.
Lipsey was in the hotel lobby and would take photos with anyone who asked. Good young man.

All that plus Illinois and Michigan State losing and they’ll still find a way to say we are a 3 seed.

Thanks. Helluva game. ISU was the better team for the majority of the game. Milan was amazing! That 2nd half was always coming down to a last shot. UA got lucky. Milan vs Del Orso 3 point festival was a trip. ISU a very real threat to get to the FF with the right draw (goes for UA as well). Get rested, healthy and go kick some butt in the tourney 'Clones. I'll be pulling for you.
U of A deserves a 1 seed, no matter what happens with Houston. They have all the weapons and the bench. Good luck in the Dance.

Untill we meet again.

I was thinking earlier today. The goal now is to play 40 games. I am even OK if we end up 32-8. If we win today, that means we would have played 35 games going into NCAA, so have to play 5 more to get to 40. Five games puts you into the Final Four first game. Lose today and we are at 34, so need to get to the NCAA championship game to play a 40th game of the season.

40 OR BUST!
Math again. OK, let's win the next 6. That could work.

At Arizona, Jefferson and Milan both seemed to struggle with the size and athleticism of Arizona. Last night, both bounced back and had great games. Jefferson was really good around the basket and Milan was incredible making shots. When we play that good, there are very few teams that can beat us.

It felt like a NCAA tournament game and it also felt like a heartbreak we have seen often that ends our season.

I thought all season that Arizona and Michigan were the two best teams, and then close behind them is Duke. We have nothing to be ashamed about losing that game last night. We played a great game, and deserve to be a 2 seed in the tournament. Arizona with all their size just rolls in player after player that is a highly skilled player, it's why they have a great chance to win the championship.

Arizona has a lot of pieces. They don't need all of them to score every game. ISU doesn't have quite as many, but can still win multiple ways. Buchanan had a great tournament. Tamin vs TTech, Toure vs AZ. Batemon with 13 and 8 in the first 2 games, zero last night. Milan great last night. Pleta with 11 vs TTech, zero last night. Significant contributions from Heise, although not necessarily scoring. Jefferson all 3 games.

I’ve been telling my wife that Del Orso has the most punchable face since the second week of the conference season. She agreed that he even managed to surpass Saunders from BYU in that capacity!
Yeah, him and that Victor Krum looking dude.

Del Orso reminds me of Gabe Kalscheur. I don't have any problem with him, he played great. As I said in another thread, AZ has lots of pieces and don't need them all to scorev20 every game. I believe it was said on the broadcast last night that Del Orso has scored 20+ in 5 games this season. He's capable.
