*** Official #7 IOWA STATE vs #16 Texas Tech Game(Day) Thread ***

Dare I say, at this point I have even more confidence when Batemon let's it fly than Momcilovic.

He just gives off some supreme confidence vibes I haven't felt since Tyrus McGee whenever he rises up now.

Feels like our team is good enough to win the Big12 in other years....just shows how good the conference is. There are so many elite players in the league. More than I can remember in the past.
Given there are like 6 or 7 guys that could go top 15-20 in NBA draft I would tend to agree with you

I remain tremendously surprised at how competitive TTU is without Toppin. How were they not like a top five team all year with him?
IMO, they weren't utilizing their guards near as much when Toppin was playing. He's elite, but he also changed the way they played offensively. They didn't space as well as they do now. Kind of a "not enough balls to go around" kinda problem.

Got so much tighter on the perimeter to limit to 3s, it did lead to a few easy buckets underneath, but I'll take that tradeoff considering the situation. We've also been able to force shooters into the gray area inside the arc while still staying stout inside, so they're taking some indecisive 10-footers.

I realize the entire court is a "gray" area, but you know what I mean. :)

Block-outs and rebound in general has been solid.

This is it. The easy looks are frustratng, but its so much better than letting elite shooting teams see the ball start going in.
