*** Official Arizona State vs #7 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

I'm thinking the team isn't going anywhere if he's going to just be completely unguarded and not shoot or attack the basket. So might as well use the Big 12 tournament to try to get some semblance of offensive confidence.

Reminds me a little like the UCF game at Hilton last year with Heise. He was in a big slump and the guys kept finding him and he finally hit a three. The rest of the team reacted as if they knew they needed him to contribute offensively and start hitting a few shots. He went a nice shooting run the rest of the season.

Now's the time to let it rip.

Attacking the basket is tricky if someone is backing off and gives the defender a head start.

If he keeps shooting and missing I'm not sure what that does for confidence.

It can take time.

The team's path is more dependent on patience overall and not getting sped up.

Buchanan playing his best game since Purdue. Perfect time to do it too

I didn't see the whole Tech game, but wasn't rebounding the only thing other than Tech making tough shots that was the difference? He and Pleta will have to keep it up

I know it's not TJ's style, but got to be thinking of taking out all the starters here once it gets under 6 min, right? I wouldn't bet on him doing it, but that's the conventional wisdom. Get some rest. Limit potential injuries.

Toure is getting so much room to operate you have to think he gets it going a little bit with how he's being guarded. Just needs to believe in himself a little bit. As others have said, it's pretty important to this team getting far.

How would he gain any confidence if he never shoots, though...maybe force some contested shots?

I'm sure he shoots plenty outside of games to work out of it and continuing to miss as people are cheering for it and 'relying' on you that aren't in your shoes can't be helpful.

People aren't cheering because they're relying on him. People are cheering because they're being supportive and hoping he can get his groove back.

At least go deeper into it.
I think he wants to make sure though, they just kill even a glimmer of hope ASU may have.
Maybe at 10 minute mark you see an expanded bench... (I hope)

This is just weird. Absolutely unnecessary exposure to injury. There's no reason to play starters now.
