*** Official Arizona State vs #7 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

I think the sources that say he was fired are unreliable. Why fire him now and pay him when they can wait for the season to end this week and just not renew his expiring contract?

Would be nice for him to melt down and his day to end early in his last game as a sundevil.
Most of these contracts run into June so they will have to fire him. Otherwise, hiring a coach in the summer will be incredibly challenging.

No they don't. They can inform him that they are not renewing his contract and start their hiring process. He can stay on their payroll until June but he will want to get a new job before then too, so he will move on.

Full disclosure, I am a little nervous today. Hate when teams are playing for their coach on their last game type stuff.
I would generally agree but I don't know if the players like this coach very much.

My evidence is supporting this thesis is purely circumstantial. I don't like him. Therefore, I assume nobody else likes him either.

ASU will fire him after the tournament is over, I am sure the league has told teams now would not be a good time to fire a coach while the conference tournament is going on. I am sure he knows or at least suspects he is out the door. The university would be reaching out to his agent or the agent talking to the university about their plans for him.
Schools will want to start their coaching search ASAP and the fired coaches will want to start looking for their next job as well has the members of his staff. So they are not waiting for June to fire him, if that is going to occur.
