*** Official #16 Texas Tech vs #4 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

I’m not even trying to criticism him, he’s an incredible clone but between him and Toure having zero ability offensively is a huge problem. You can’t have two guards who’s ant score and then you toss in Heise who also can’t really score and it’s an issue.

Tamin has played poorly on offense in conference play, and Toure has also been slumping. You are correct that we need one of them to be a threat, as if not, the whole thing depends on Milan and JJ trying too hard. I think it's situational, as both of those guys are capable, but today it was a factor, no doubt.

You have spent the entire game thread dumbing posts and yelling at other fans for not being so righteously "positive" or whatever you call what you are doing. For your own health, why even come here? Clearly the team playing like sh*t - that is a bummer. Of course fans are gonna b*tch. What better place on planet Earth to do that than here in a gamethread?

People are assh*les for posting frustrations in a game thread!? Seriously? What should fans type in these game threads when 'things go bad'? What's the righteous/good-fan message supposed to be? Are there any critiques or criticisms or negative-leaning opinions at all that are acceptable?
Those are embarrassing low expectations for an adult to handle sports. Especially sports played by 18-22 year olds.

I said the same thing. It isn't tolerated.
Tamin slander shouldn't be tolerated. He will go down as an all timer as he should. That said, he is so banged up at this point of his career that I doubt that he could physically play another year if he wanted to

News for you and @Darius Bieber.....it still CAN BE that kind of season. Disappointing today, yep. Pathetic? No way.
Alright, then I guess we will just see how our posts age in 3 weeks. I’ll happily eat crow if I’m wrong.

Obviously I want them to win it all… I just have extremely low confidence in them. They’ll be lucky to get to the Sweet 16 let alone past that. That to me would equate to a season that could have been so much more.

Starting to believe how Batemon goes so goes this team. There were other games where he lifted the team with his shooting at key moments.

I am not talking about volume scoring but his, 6-9 points seems to come at a time to keep ISU around or pushes them over the hump.

Guards today all had bad games...

This team is soft.

Hope to see something better in a couple of weeks, but I’m not optimistic

I’ve said it’s not who you lose to it’s who you can beat, but playing like butt is frustrating.
They played their asses of today. It's just if you do what we do against that team, with zero flexibility, you are going to lose everytime Never really had a chance.

Accurate take. Didn't think that would be the case mid season, but it sure seems like the case currently. I think he's up for it (Batemon, that is).

I like Batemon he’s at least a threat from 3. You can let Lipsey sit out there all day long he isn’t gonna hurt you and either will Toure. They are both incredibly limited offensively
Definitely, a black hole here today by all 3. I feel like Toure has regressed since conference play. Absolutely 0 play offensively from long. Love the kid and the hustle, but has nothing to offer offensively as of late.

I’m not so sure, both have really struggled in conference play. Teams have been able to clog the lane against us. Regardless today was wildly disappointing letting a ranked match up come in and you didn’t show up at home no less. That was the last meaningful home game those guys have (ASU who cares) and they slept walk for most of it minus a stretch second half

Lets be honest here, where's the athletic talent? You see other teams have guys that fly around the court, can beat guys off the dribble and create wide open shots for others. The most athletic Cyclones are freshmen and even though Batemon has come on a bit as of late, they're not ready to be impact players. Lipsey, god love him, isn't very athletic and has a hard time beating guys off the dribble, JJ and Momcilovic are slow, Heise is a try hard guy who doesn't score much, the bigs are pedestrian. Just about everything funnels through JJ and it's just too much of a burden at times, he needs help.

My general point is that I think Iowa State has overachieved when you look at their talent level. I think a Sweet 16 appearance would be a good year but I just don't see the firepower to go beyond that depending on matchups.

So I guess Dom Nelson could not haver provided any offensive spark this game?
Team D was poor so not sure he could have made it worse.

I get it at this point he will never see the court... But it is fair to ask what if isnt it?

Don’t have the money for the athletic types

Listening to the post game show. While it's still a lot of TJ speak, you can tell he's pissed

I’ve been saying it but Batemon and Heise are the true X factors - see Ku/Houston games. With Lipsey and Toure having limits offensively those other 2 guys elevate the team. When they struggle we struggle

If they get hot from 3 they can go a long ways. If they aren't hitting they won't get past the Sweet 16.

Apparently it is based on confusion and the f*cking idiotic responses to this game in this thread.

I think some of the responses you are getting is you are choosing to go on the attack against one of (if not THE) best coaches Iowa State has ever had in basketball. Critique and analyze away, but calling him a "figurehead" is an awful take.
