If things fall ISU's way they could end up with 3 more Q1 wins than they have right now:
1. Win over Tech
2. Win over UA
3. OSU does enough to move up 6 spots in the NET. Q3 win becomes Q2b, Q2a win becomes Q1b.
It would also help if CU and Miss St don't **** the bed and drop down to Q3 games.
If it all goes well ISU is coming off of a huge win over UA and is 19-4 in Q1&2 with no losses below Q1. That would be a resume that would be hard to beat for that last #1 seed. Even 18-5 with no losses below Q1 is not bad. Eighteen is still an obscene number of those wins and would be top 4 or 5 in that category.
Rate they're playing at? In the last two weeks, Iowa State has beaten two top 10 teams at home and lost on the road to a ranked team. In the same time, UConn has beat one ranked team at home and lost to an unranked team at home.
Their conference is going to get three teams in the tournament. Their schedule is cake.
I think you're absolutely right. A 2-1 finale with a perfect homestand would be hard to discredit!
