*** Official Baylor vs #7 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

Batemon's +/- today was +16 in 13 minutes which is insane. His +/- was far and away the highest. Only three players had a positive +/- today. Batemon, Lipsey and Buchanan. Everyone else was negative.
Batemon and Heise played well. The team clearly looked like they were off for 6 days. Glad they still found a way to win. But tons of mental mistakes and sloppy play that needs to get cleaned up before the schedule really gets difficult starting next weekend

He was jawing non-stop. One of the refs got tired of it and T'd him up. But, a couple possessions later, they called a bogus foul on either Jeff or Buchanan (clean deflection of a ball which would have been a steal). I believe BU scored on that extra possession.
Yeah he got what he wanted out of the T. Played the refs like a fiddle.

3 guys on Baylor played all 40 minutes and they still had enough in the gas tank for a 11-0 run to finish. Poor effort poor focus by ISU.
I would also contend that our 14pt lead was helped out by the fact that the BU guys got tired playing 1/2 court D. They found the extra juice/adrenaline rush in that final 90 seconds when Lipsey and Toure made some poor end-of-the game decisions/plays.

If ISU shoots their normal % from three, they win the game going away.

Plenty of positives and negatives today but it was a win.
Baylor made a lot of tough 3s. Very tough.

Usually Baylor is a load to deal with in the paint/on the glass and I thought that was a real bright spot for us.

Deal with some of the lazy passes and we'll be fine.

Championship quality teams don't finish games like that.
Michigan is one of the odds on favorites this year, and absolutely let Nebraska climb back into it last week and take the lead with minutes to go. Michigan had to battle back hard, and eeked out by 3.

On the one hand we played hard and I felt like got what we wanted offensively just made less shots than usual. Baylor also threw in several prayers and we won.

On the other hand we pretty much lost, had an unacceptable performance, dropped 4 spots on kenpom, and will no longer make the final four and Pollard will be digging out from his inbox for days. Very yin-yang type game.

I get that Jefferson is the key to much of what they do, but I really wish TJ would chew him out sometimes, when makes those lazy passes that get picked or screws around dribbling only to get it stolen. Just mental mistakes, that he shouldn't be continually doing this far into the season.

If this is your take from today’s game you obviously have it out for Jefferson. He was the only one that didn’t have a lazy pass today. Toure, Lipsey, and Milan were all guilty of it today but not JJeff.
