*** Official Baylor vs #7 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

We need to reverse my Florida curse today.

I am in Florida on my annual February trip. Here are the results I tallied of ISU bball when I have been on these trips in past years.

2022
Lost at good Texas team
Lost to a bad K-State team at Hilton

2023
Lost to mediocre Ok State team at Hilton
Lost to bad OU team at Hilton
Lost to bad WV team at Hilton

2024
Lost at good Baylor team - Milan’s shot good but after the buzzer

2025
Lost to horrible K-State team at Hilton

0-2 Road, 0-5 home. These have all been TJ teams, not some crappy Prohm team.

15.5 point favorite today and I am super worried. The curse needs to end today!

Baylor is like UC to me in that when I watch them it's kind of baffling that they aren't better.

I can see a slower start today than the last few weeks after the week off and hopefully ISU can settle in and put it together.

Baylor's conference schedule has been very front loaded and they aren't as bad as people think. They've got some serious dudes on their roster.

We're playing them for the second time, so I'm not expecting our defense to shell shock them, or for us to jump out to another 30 point halftime lead. It would be great if we cover the 15.5 point spread, but just get the W.

Am I wrong or didn't the line start out like -17.5 for us and it's now -14.5? Again, I might be dreaming.

Clones will have fresh legs after the mini bye and dialed in we need to show Baylor where the bears **** in the buckwheat cyclones by 14

It’s hard to say how the team will look out of the gate, rest vs. rust. I love that the first game after the mini bye is at home, though. not really buying that Baylor is better than their record. Rare is the team 3-7 in conference in February that turns it on and makes a run at the bubble. absolutely have to be taken seriously though, as if Cincinnati can bite you when your defensive execution is poor, Baylor certainly can

C.W. McCall said it best in the song “Convoy”.

“We about to go hunting Bears!”

Let’s go Boys!!

Thanks Rulzzz!!

Can you make a quick drive to Alabama or Georgia? :)

Hoping for continued chaos today after everything that's already happened this week (Mich St, Gonzaga, UConn). Illinois, Duke, and even Michigan going down would be nice... and then we'll be forced back into the conversations again when people were all too willing to ignore us after our 2-game slide.

Just going to say this. Conf record is deceiving because their schedule has been as hard as ours has soft.

Need our best effort today.

Baylor's got 2 NBA guys (3 technically) and this week has shown signs of them figuring their stuff out. I bet they keep it close until somewhat late but the better team wins. Clones by 13
Carr and Yessoufou can also shoot them quickly out of the game. Baylor chucks. You just have to hope they aren't hot at the same time. Agbim has also been shooting it well.

Today will be a good test to see if our offensive surge is here to stay. Before our two losses, we scored 60 points in Waco. Baylor's size and aggression gave us big issues (our biggest weakness). Lipsey had a huge second half to rescue us.

Baylor is not a good defensive team. Does the ball stick? Do our ball handlers get overwhelmed and press? Or do we continue to move the ball and get great shots?
