Paulk is also very good at setting screens. I really like her game. She is doing the little things this team needs at times.
3 of those shooters are like a combined 0-17 from 3 though
Paulk really impacting the game…she won’t have the stats but great game from her today.
She does a lot of good things but Paulk's utter lack of looking to score is weird. Just a moment ago had a wide open lane like 8 feet from the hoop and either doesn't see it or doesn't take it.
I'm just laughing watching Paulk figure out yet ANOTHER way to not take a shot. She seems very competent in about every other area. Just not confident on her shot or something. That needs to be fixed. She could be a BIG asset to us in the future. I mean, Like she could be AJ, Addy important next year.

She got yanked the moment she missed her first three. Just a terrible way to coach someone.

She has very low awareness on defense. You can tell she's never really been asked to defend at any level.

That was an ugly game but really impressed with the ladies effort today.
I thought ball movement was really good taday any time EP had it go to her. To her and RIGHT back to someone else with less opportunity to score than her AT LEAST 15 times. Ha!
But, I didn't think the ball stuck excepot when Jada had it at the ends of clocks.
It was a weird game, but we stuck to our game plan and played good defense. AJ did her job and lifted the rest of the team. Paulk made a lot of hustle plays, and WIlliams took over in the 4th. Yes, Audi only had 10, but she only took 8 shots and had 13 rebounds. Nothing wrong with that. Ideally, we get more from Hare and Harris. Good to win comfortably while playing a different style.
Probably an outlier result. Regardless, you have to run an offense that stresses the defense. With how UCF was playing, having EP on the floor wasn't doing that because she isn't a 3PT threat. They found a little something with her screening at the elbow for JW at least.
But I firmly believe that the best approach would have been 4-out and Audi in with 4 shooters. Run that correctly and you either get an open 3 or an Audi 1-on-1. If they keep getting open 3s and end up 0-30, so goes life.
Yeah but the people that missed 20 three pointers weren’t three point threats either.
It's good in theory, but WIlliams is not a good 3 point shooter. Hare in conference play has not been good from 3. Having Jackson back has been huge because she's a good shooter and actually makes defenses pay for doubling and tripling. When your main ball handler in Williams shoots 30% from 3, it makes it really easy to double and triple Crooks.
Simply put: We don't have 4 shooters. And if we were to put in our 4 "shooters" our defense and rebounding goes to hell. That's what we did during the losing streak.
