***Official portal tracker thread***

Nah, anyone we didnt want or fit, would be told it would be best for them to explore other opportunities. I would guess several that left this year were told that.

A kid out of KSU went public with the receipts that he was told he no longer had a spot on the team, when he had decided to stay.
The hypothetical was Campbell leaving now for the Browns and bring in someone now. Portal closed. Past the point of exploring opportunities.

Edit: Just read the rules. Players could leave but we would be way behind in finding someone

Did they really lose most of their OL and some depth, their entire DL, half the secondary, and their entire ST unit? That's crazy for a non-job-change situation
They finally ran out of Covid eligibility.

I think their offense will improve as their line has time to gel- they return some experience at the skill positions. Looks like they’ve decided NOT to blow their load on damaged goods at QB this offseason. Volume-wise, this is the hardest they’ve ever hit the transfer market. I’d anticipate both offenses to play sloppy in weeks 1-2. Anything’s possible in El Assico.

Their defense and ST are absolutely gutted with the unexpected departures of Entringer & Dakin. The DL 2nd stringers have seen some action and they’ll probably be good, but not elite. LB & secondary have a lot to replace. Phil Parker has proven he knows what he’s doing, though. I’m thinking maybe our best offense would be turning Raynor loose with some creative scrambling.

It’ll be interesting to see if they can continue to flip the field with special teams this season. That’s been their best weapon lately.

Yes, if you are talking about trying to out physical Iowa along the lines of scrimmage. But ISU held its own the last 2 years trying to match smash vs. smash

But no, if Iowa State's offense leverages Raynor as an RPO or scrambling QB. Teams with running QB's have given the Hawk defense some issues.

Plus if Roehl's offense is run heavy, QB under center and utilizes play action. That should create opportunities for long completions.
Plus….Im pretty reasonably sure that CJFR understand the importance of beating the Freaking Hawks!!!

It's was a blessing in disguise when he took the Penn State job. It gave us a chance tomake a hire and get a roster out together. Imagine losing him now when most of the transfer portal has been picked over already.
But how many would have followed him to the Browns???

Browns trying to be the Best Version of Themselves….

That's the great thing about the Cleveland Browns, though. That job is going to be open again in two to three years anyway.
The Cleveland Brown's wanted candidates to write essays and take psych evals and such. Plus the new coach had to agree to retain the DC Jim Schwartz. In addition, the new coach gets saddled with Sheduer. The Brown's found their guy in Todd Moncken- they were never going to get a top level coach.

"
The Cleveland Browns are using an unusually intensive search process in order to find a replacement for Kevin Stefanski, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Interviewing to be the Browns next head coach involves writing a multi-part essay and taking a personality test, Pelissero said in a Friday appearance on the Rich Eisen Show.
"The Browns' search process and interview process, which they have run a number of times, is unlike any other in the NFL," Pelissero said. "And it plays to certain types of candidates. They are a data-driven operation in Cleveland, and so they spend an extraordinary amount of time gathering data on their coaching candidates."

Former commit Ethan Beckman committed to North Dakota. That should be the last of the decommits. Still a few transfer portal guys left.
