Pop ups are too much.

I can't use this site anymore. Literally anytime I get on the message boards, after about 10 seconds, an entire page sized popup blends in with the website page. Anything I click on goes to the pop up ad site. I'm done.

You want some help? Tell us about your device (phone, PC, tablet, other), OS (Windows, Android, IOS, other), browser (Netscape, IE, AOL, other), etc. or try googling uBlock Origin extension.

"lets make the site unusable for anyone but premiums " - chris :jimlad:
I know it's a joke and it's not CW's fault, but it does feel that way at times to non premium users.
Try Premium, you won’t regret it.
Not everyone wants to pay for it or can. I'm sure it's nice to not have ads. I don't think anyone who doesn't pay for premium expects no ads, but they're literally so bad they cover the entire screen rendering the entire site useless at many times. There should be a reasonable middle ground between advertisement and entertainment. This site has crossed it.

This is what I had to navigate, refresh 3x, and was forced to click on one ad to be able to get out of it at all:

I have this crazy idea that it's possible to generate ad revenue without frustrating users. Crazy, I know. I think the feedback from non-premium users is valid and perhaps a way to generate loyalty that would lead to more premium subscriptions.

That sucks. I understand not everyone wants to pay a monthly fee for CF. It took me a long time to do it. I just wanted to share a possible solution to the adds. It is one of the reasons I continue my premium membership even in low news times.

I thought this was another inflation thread about soda. “Pop is too damn high!”

This just seems to get worse and worse. Now Adobe adds are taking over and no matter what button I click, it takes me to the Adobe page. I have to refresh just to get back to a normal page and quickly click "forum" before Adobe can take over again. Throw in that ******* Norton thing that is now opening 3 Norton pages at the same time. Sometimes I do get the feeling that they just don't care.

Just when I think this site couldn’t get worse with ads it continues to push past it. I’m now in a spot that I have to close all ads just get embedded links to load, only to have the site crash and reload 20 new ads. Interacting with the main menus is impossible now as the moment I click on it I get a full page ad.

Been on CF for a long time and enjoy it especially in the off season. But it’s turned into the worst experience of anything I routinely visit. And it’s not even close anymore.

I don’t have so many pop-up ads but the Norton anti-virus are relentless. On iPhone,iPad and PC

Stop using this site on mobile. Only use when you can be on a PC with an effective ad blocker. If site traffic is down it is not your problem.
Agreed. I do occasionally use mobile but just the Samsung Internet explorer that comes with the android system and the worst I get is just a video ad that might take up 20% of the bottom of the screen before X'ing out of it.
