Peacock

Out of curiosity, why is Peacock using ESPN guys for their broadcasts? Or are the broadcast guys just contractors open for work with anyone.

NBC/Peacock is sub-licensing the 20 games from EPSN/FOX and their contract with the Big 12. I would guess as part of the agreement ESPN and/or FOX handles parts of the in game production including broadcasters.

Gotcha, that makes sense. I was hoping for a CBS level broadcast, not an ESPN level broadcast.

The lack of pause / rewind functionality on Peacock was infuriating. And the fact that I was not aware of this.

I've grown accustomed to rarely watching games fully live. I got my kids to bed around 8, fully expecting to be able to watch the game from the beginning and fast forward through commercials as a typically do, only to find out I could not and had already missed the entire first half!

At least it sounds like the first half was one worth missing.. glad I at least got to watch the second half. One of my biggest gripes of games spread out on all these different streaming platforms is the disparity in the functionality and user interfaces -- YouTube TV UI is perfect, just let me watch everything on there!

From ESPN.
So probably wrong. Lol

Listed as Peacock/NBCSN, hopefully it stays that way.
I was looking at Iowa St's schedule and the Big 12 TV schedule release which both show only Peacock:

But just did some more looking around on the Big 12 site and found the composite schedule and it shows Peacock, NBCSN so it does look likely.

The original TV schedule came out in October. NBCSN didn't become a thing again until November, so the first PDF release wouldn't have included it.

I was more relying on the cyclones.com schedule, but did a double check on what came up when I googled Big 12 basketball tv schedule.

I'd say he was being fair, but I definitely felt a bit of "we" not "they" when talking about Baylor in early game. Probably was more of the excitement of Baylor hanging with the #3 team in the country than anything. No announcer ever wants to call a boring game.
It would be like Niang being a commentator and calling an ISU game. Of course there is going to be bias towards a school you played for. If you can get past that, and accept it, King is full of good information, and loves to flash back to when he played in the Big 12 and his experiences.

Trying to watch a replay of the game and holy **** this garbage streaming service blows. So many commercials. Zero stars.
