Still can't buy a beer in the stadium I seeI think I'll take my autonomous flying car to the game, grab a soylent dog and an energy slurry for $495 at the concessions stand, sit down and give those guys a nice round of applause for a fun season.
Thomas Pollard took over for dad in 2035 and carried on the family legacy of hating poor people drinking beer.Still can't buy a beer in the stadium I see
I don’t think we can compare any other situation to this one just due to the nuance. Larry didn’t gut the team and **** on the school In interviews moving forward. The way I see it, and I could be alone is that Matt burned the bridges with the school. There wouldn’t be much bad blood 20 years down the road.
Look at the 2000 basketball team reunion. Larry left ISU on bad terms. Shirley and probably some other players hated his guts.
And yet they received a warm welcome and the whole team seemed happy to be back. Time heals a lot.
I get where you are coming from - it's just that it is so hard to make a good analogy because of what college sports has become during the past few years. We Cy Fans didn't have much trouble welcoming E. Bruce or J Majors back because, although they left, there wasn't the Pay for Play system where a coach could gut the roster of the team he was leaving. This is the difference right now - MC gutted our program because the system allowed him to do that - and regardless of that, it will be natural to blame him & not want to welcome him back. When Bruce left us, we were hurt, but he didn't gut our team - our futility in the sport after his coaching tenure was due to many OTHER factors. When Chizik left, some felt betrayed, but Rhoads was able to come in and be successful because Chizik didn't take all the talent away from us. Also, Larry's problem was drinking (he admitted it and that he "blew it"). He may have retired as our coach had he not had personal demons to deal with. There wouldn’t be much bad blood 20 years down the road.

I will cheer every PSU loss except when they play EIU.Can we not mention Matt Campbell for at least until 2027? I feel like we've all moved on.
