Sowell going to Penn State is crazy to me. He's not a long term piece nor is he a guy you can trust to be an immediate contributor. Unless you took him as a depth piece to play WR4 or something.

Campbell will not be beating the allegations that he's just throwing money and scholarships at "his" guys whether or not they're actually good enough for Penn State.

If Sowell could catch, he’d have a long line of blue bloods after him. You take him in hopes he learns to catch, and if not, he’s a solid depth piece.

Everyone who visits this site is a client. You don't get paid with online advertising without traffic. If you don't "pay" for this site through actual exchange of funds, you do so with your attention.
Get off your high horse about who is a client. It just shows you don't know how this economy works.
While CW definitely has feelings about dudes he's worked with for a decade, he def needs to turn his attention (not sure whether he has one way or the other). Could just be stress rather than mourning. Not sure how his efforts are tied with the AD exactly so if he has to find his own path to connect so he can deliver what he's accustomed to, that'd be stressful. Not sure if the University greases that path or not. If CF could flounder because the new guy doesn't like him, that'd be a problem.

Is this for real? BFD.

People deal with this crap all the time in jobs. To be fair, I couldn't get excited about transfer portal season either. Wake me up when it's over. Thank god I don't have to worry about it for any reason.
Bizarre take. But not surprising.

Campbell gutted our program because he needed to bring in enough guys that buy into the Cult of Campbell.

That is fine. I’m sure he is really bummed. We all have things that make us bummed.

My issue is that he can’t do one podcast on 2GNC without bringing up how we should have hire his bff mouse. Want to know why he most likely isn’t sourced in? The new coach and staff saw this guy crying over the old one, it’s going to take time for them to be like yeah… let’s give him info.
IDK. How much actual reporting has CW been doing in recent years anyway? (Sincerely don't know) he's the CEO of two local media companies, I just assumed that's why he brought in Brend and has had Rob Gray to be his boots on the ground

For those critical of Campbell bringing in all the Iowa St guys, the stated expectation in Happy Valley is a NC. How many, especially guys like Sowell, are at that level?

Are they talented enough to compete with Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship? Can they win a game in the CFP? Our talent might win ten games against a weak schedule next year, but I think the expectation is higher than that at PSU.
Spot on

Not next year though, not in the real world anyways, maybe on twitter

Penn State was in a similar position as us. When Franklin got fired, most of the team entered the portal. So not really surprising that Campbell will also take anyone willing to come to PSU.

It's taking longer than we expected but Rogers will be doing this with Wazzu and we will see it happen this week as well

The realistic best case scenario for Penn State in 2026 is they go 10-2 against a cake schedule, miss the B1G CCG, make the CFP and manage to pull a first round upset before a quarterfinal loss.

Making the CFP in year 1 would be viewed positively even with their exceptionally easy schedule and they have the name brand and conference to just be handed a CFP spot at 10-2 anyway
