*** Official West Virginia vs #3 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

I was there last game and it was half full and a weird game etc. but imo still has a very strong vibe of being a really great basketball arena.
Was that long beach state? Everyone kind of had their foot out the door yet we still dominated.

I'd say, Buchanan tops the list, in terms of the "surprise factor."
Buchanan, Toure, and Pleta are all way above my expectations for them at the beginning of the season.
If we can keep everyone healthy, we have the chance to be really GOOD.
Also throw in Milan being on fire holy moly he is playing with confidence now.

This team just makes me happy watching it, too bad only 7 home games left in Hilton.

Milan was certainly not bad before and we all knew he could get hot, but don’t think he finished above 40% in either of his first years. This is just an incredible jump.

It’s even more than the jump Thomas made between year 1-2 and year 3-4

End of season, Batemon has the chance of being...you know.
Heise as well.
We have a load of gifts, on any given night.

We can yap about this 3 pt historical stuff forever.
Nobody compares to Milan, eod.
Not even worthy of debate.
I'm getting to the point that if Milan makes 1 of his 1st 2 threes, the rest of them just seem like free throws for him. Amazing shooter.

The question for Milan will be how long can he keep this up!

Ugly start, but I reads was never worried because we were moving the ball so well. It’s when the ball inexplicably sticks that we drop frustrating games.

Toure struggling a little bit offensively right now. His defense is so good. I think he will get his offense figured out.

Milan is for sure a first round pick. Maybe lotto. Any 6-8 dude who is shooting 55% from three has a major role in the NBA.

Respectfully disagree, I think he’s a very late first to second rounder, all due to his relatively low ceiling as a ‘complete’ player - he seems unlikely to ever be a plus defender in NBA, and he hasn’t shown the ability to create his own shot at an elite level (yes, his turnaround looks NOICE in college, but to me it’s reminiscent of Niang’s old man moves - very effective in college, but likely won’t translate effectively in the NBA - hence why Niang now completely transitioned to camping out for corner 3s to be an effective NBA player)

With all that said, yes his ability to get off and knock down spot up 3s should make him a very serviceable NBA player!
