Name a transfer better off leaving IA State

Who was the QB that ended up at NDSU?
You may be thinking of Aiden Bowman, though I think it was South Dakota or SDSU? Watched him a couple weeks ago in their playoff game. Looked terrible, but team was horribly overmatched. Had a good career there from what I understood.

He was at South Dakota.

I guess when I see "name a transfer better off leaving Iowa State" i don't think about guys who transferred down because they weren't good enough at our level, I think of guy who thought they were good enough to go to a bigger school and get paid.

And that list is tiny, Onyedim is the only FB player that comes to mind.

Almost all others found out they weren't as good or coveted by the big schools like they thought they'd be.

Good thread. The question “better off” has changed in last year
Better off playing time? Better off financially ?

Within framework of @Bob_4_cy OP:

"Can anyone name a transfer that had a more successful season once they transferred to another team? I can’t think of one who benefited from transferring out of Iowa State (more playing time, better draft status, etc)."

With that phrasing I would say lots, but they all went down a level or to a lesser school.

The lesson kids: Go to the school that showcases you the best, whether it is a small school or big school. There is no point to going to a big school if you never see the field.

Not necessarily what you may have been talking about because I think he may have been one that was caught up in the gambling mess and got out when the gettin was good.
He may have not landed in a better spot either but was at least a lateral move.
He started out very good at KU before getting injured.

This would’ve been a good exercise every time the “I appreciate everything Heacock has done but it’s time to move on” posts started coming out.

Guys from ISU particularly on the defensive side of the ball got offers because they were part of a great defense. Then they go elsewhere and largely flame out at P4 schools.
