Name a transfer better off leaving IA State

Quaron Adams.

He didn’t play in 2 years at Iowa State, and after a decent year at South Dakota he transferred back up to P4 at Cal.

His stats weren’t great this year, but he caught passes in 9 games including 5 catches and a TD in the win over then ranked SMU.

Wasn’t one of the taller receivers that transferred having a pretty good year?

Joe Scates

It happens all the time. And it doesn’t happen all the time. I also wonder “how do you really answer this question?” How does one know they would have been “better off” staying or leaving?

It’s okay to cope, but I’m not sure this is the way do to it.

Can anyone name a transfer that had a more successful season once they transferred to another team? I can’t think of one who benefitted from transferring out of Iowa State (more playing time, better draft status, etc)
What do you mean by benefiting? If I'm not going pro and I make more money by transferring despite putting up worse numbers am I not benefitting? If happiness is my goal and if im happier being closer to home and playing less than I was at ISU am I not benefitting? Whats better for an ISU fan or the team isn't necessarily what's better for the player.

This is probably a good question for college fb in general. Of course there are the players like Mendoza who transfer somewhere and immediately hit. I would guess the majority of guys who transfer though don’t achieve the level of success they imagine for themselves.
