Wise advice. It can be especially hard to do with the guys you have seen grow up within the program. But I will view any returning players as a bonus.

Shouldn't we get some compensation for the recruiting cost? I wouldn't mind doing the same to Washington State if we get their players.
Well, we shall see just how well his strategy works or doesnt in about 3 years. Hope he fails miserably with our recruits.

Maybe this will be like Tim Floyd's 2nd year. Everybody graduated and he brought in a bunch of jucos/transfers. Had no idea who was on the team. Picked last in the Big 8 and the team kicked ass, won the conference tournament. TJ's 1st year also but he was able to keep top recruit Hunter. Of course easier with basketball I assume but let's keep it positive. We may have a bunch of Alabama/Ohio State transfers coming our way first week of January.
Alabama is still going to be playing, but Indiana transfers would be nice!

I think everyone just needs to support the basketball teams over the next few months and worry about football in August.

We’re getting fleeced like a G5 or FCS school. It’s tough for a loyal, grass-roots fanbase to witness a decade’s worth of culture that had finally established consistent success on the field be so heartlessly deconstructed. To make matters worse, there’s no loyalty to Iowa State from the team. They say they love us- really? Buy my NIL swag. Attend my camp. Nevermind. See ya! It’s a one-way street.

It's your fault you fell for coach speak.
There's nothing about Iowa State or any other place that makes it immune to this. This is a business and you'll feel so much better if you just realize you're cheering for your favorite laundry and that these 'kids' are just like anyone else and will jump to whatever place offers them the best deal.
I'm not telling anyone what to do with their money but you'll feel a whole lot better about what you're doing with your dollar if you're not using it to pay 20 year olds to play on top of getting benefits that no other students get.
