New Arrowhead?

I kind of wonder if the Kansas City Missouri residents and businesses will actually make out like bandits in this arrangement. If people still rent hotels and Airbnb's on that side, still prefer the power and light district to whatever is on the Kansas side, they'll get all the benefits of a home football game without paying any of ransom...er I mean sales tax the Kansas residents are.

The new stadium is going to be out at the Legends so it will be in Kansas City, KS. Can't believe all the numbnuts on Twitter saying they have to change the name now. It's still Kansas City.

They're also building a new practice facility in NW Olathe which is a really nice area and will be just miles South of the stadium.

Nobody was staying by the stadiums anyways. Or at least nobody with half a brain was

The selling point for giving away hundreds of millions of dollars is that it brings in business to the area (which is true, if never to the extent they promise)

The problem for Kansas residents and what could be a boon to Missouri residents is the stadium move doesn't really dictate any changes to where you would stay if you were in arrowhead.

The Bears will be at Soldier for the next 20 years. That whole thing is a mess.
It feels like the Bears and the Chiefs have both been doing this same song and dance forever. I have seen both have so many different plans and decisions only to come out a month later with something else.

I only say that because my wife is a life long Bears fan, and I have been having fun at her expense calling them the "Gary Bears" the last week or so. :p

I would fully expect the K7 corridor between Olathe and Bonner Springs to really explode with restaurants, bars and hotels. They’re going to make the stadium area and the practice facility area "mixed use" areas so they'll both be bringing people in.

I bet western Lenexa really expands as well. It's already blown up West of 435 with restaurants, apartments, corporate buildings and municipal buildings. Really cool area. And KC Bier is building a new brewery and bier hall out there! Excited about that.

When I lived in Chicago I dated a girl from NW Indiana and she talked about it like she beat the odds escaping the hood as if she was Tre from Boyz N the Hood or something.

People are dumb. It's similar to the 49ers. The 49ers are 40 miles away from actual San Francisco in a completely different city. The Santa Clara 49ers everyone!

Depends on where they build it. If they build it on the opposite side of 435 from the speedway I can't see much of a reason for a lot of people to stay on the Missouri side at all. I mean outside of the stadiums and power and light most of the new developments are on the Kansas side. Its gonna hurt KCMO and Missouri not having them in town. Keep in mind the lease on Arrowhead doesn't expire until 2031. It will give KCK or whoever plenty of time to build motels to get that business. If it's built in Olathe there are plenty of hotels there and the rest of Johnson County, KS. Jackson County ****** up bad here imo. Keep in mind to that most people who go to games don't stay there. I bet the amount of people who go to games and even get a hotel isnt more than 10%. Id guess 50% of the people who go to games lives within an hour of the metro. Even the people I know who drive down from Iowa every home game don't stay in Hotels. They either drive down and back that day or stay with friends in the area.

Bonner Springs/Lansing as well as Shawnee West of 435 are all going to explode. Other than the Power and Light sadly there will be no reason to even go to the Missouri side. I am glad that it's likely going to be in Wyandotte County and not Johnson though.

Where Schlitterbahn was. Im somewhat surprised they aren't looking to build the team headquarters in Overland Park.

Olathe, KS is a hell of a lot nicer than where Arrowhead is now. I'd be pumped if I were Chiefs fans. Except for the dome part. I hate domes.
If they move to Kansas fine. At least keep them in KCK though. The area by the speedway absolutely blows away any location Olathe or anywhere else in JOCo has to offer.

Why would it suck in Olathe? It's part of the Kansas City metro area. Kansas City proper is a dump.
Because the Legends/speedway area is better. More space. More accessible by interstates even though I realize everyone will end up on 435. If you build it in Olathe your talking 30 minutes south of downtown on a non-game day alone and everybody has to use I-35 for the most part. Build it out by the speedway and you are 15 minutes from downtown, right next to 435, 635, 70, and have tons of open space to build hotels and other entertainment. And you are still a lot closer to being centrally located to all the suburbs. I don't even understand how Olathe came into play. Thats a 50 minute drive from Liberty on a low traffic day.

A dome…….bunch of p******!
Having a dome, gets them the super bowl in the future, something the like has promised KC, but they had to have it built before the league would grant them the game. I would expect sometime this summer after all the T's have been crossed and everything is signed, the NFL will announce that KC will be hosting a SB around 2030 or so.
