Maybe no reason to believe it is true. At least completely true. On an internet messenger board you can be whomever you want to be. You can make claims of inside information that can be fabricated. The internet is filled with false information.
Don't claim to be Jamie Pollard though or Mr. G Spot will out you.

ESPN is mitigating their losses by going to bed with DraftKings and other gambling companies. Now private equity firms are entering the sport to help conferences/teams keep up in the college sports arms race. This whole thing is a mess and a potential house of cards.

Potential?

Looks like another loser Pedo State University coach to me.
I can’t help but think MC is kicking himself a little as MI tries to find a coach and ND is apparently about to open up.

Pedo state is a baby blue blood at best with a fan base known for caring more about an old
Pedo enablers wins than kids.

No fans of CFB have forgotten that. Now you’re associated with that forever. lol. Not a good look. And then he even brought up JoPa’s tradition to them at the presser. What a cult.

Im all for kids making money, but someone needs to come out with guidelines where they can't move year to year. I don't know who makes that call.

Potential?
Look…I got $50k on ‘Monster Mudder Horseasouraus’ in the 4th…he’s a 8k/1 shot…if this hits I’m taking care of all ISU’s NIL needs.

The Powerball didn’t work out Saturday…but I feel a lot better about this one!

Clydesdales are fast…right? They say he’s the fastest Clydesdales ever. It’s a lock.

Moberly staying is awesome. Hope Manske does as well. Major Cantrell has looked electric in the little time we've seen him on the field, so if those three stay, I think we have a great quarterback room
I don’t see Manske or Moberly sitting on the bench. Moberly staying suggests Manske leaving to me. They are really close in age and talent and they both have already redshirted I believe. They both are gonna want to be starters. But who knows? By the time I post this reply I could be proven wrong.

WSU has $2.5m NIL and no conference or media coverage. They’re UNI in 5-10 years imho.
The PAC-12 is expanding next year and has a modest media deal.

Football schools:

Wazzu
Oregon State
Boise State
San Diego State
Fresno State
Colorado State
Utah State
Texas State

More intriguing, they added Gonzaga as a 9th, non-football school.

It is solidly near the top of the G5.

6 of 8 teams are bowl eligible, with only Oregon State and Colorado State (two of the larger schools/progarms) missing out.

They’d potentially be a 4 bid basketball league this year, with Gonzaga a potential #1 seed, Utah State firmly in, and Boise State + San Diego State on the bubble (51 and 52 in kenpom currently).

San Diego State made the title game in ‘23 and Gonzaga last made it in ‘21. I wouldn’t be surprised if they poach St. Mary’s soon to move to 10 in basketball.

They’re only going to be UNI in 5-10 years if the bottom falls out of college sports (or UNI joins the AAC).

BUT…would you even consider trading spots with them?

What if I threw in a $50k 8k/1 sure thing? Hmmm

Disagree. Manske Family have been lifelong Cyclone fans. Manske is a competitor. He experienced the dream of playing in Jack Trice as a true freshman and scoring his first career touchdown.

Manske is a true freshman. Moberly redshirt freshman. Manske committed to Iowa State knowing Moberly was already here and impressed people last year. I’m looking forward to their spirited competition.

You think the starting job just gets handed to Moberly? I would guess there is competition.

Oh, Washington State would have been a step down from ISU even if the PAC-12 hadn’t imploded.

We’ll see how things play out, but the media revenue gap in ‘26-‘27 between Wazzu and ISU is smaller than ISU and Penn State if a quick search is to be believed.

ISU is apparently getting $31.5M.

Wazzu’s deal is somewhere between $7-10M ($10-15M in some sources).

Penn State is getting $90-100M.

The consensus seems to be the actual media exposure for the new PAC-12 is similar to the ACC and Big 12 (and much, much better than the MWC and AAC).

Edit: I didn’t really follow the PAC-12 rebirth, they’re in really good shape it seems. Good for them. It is hard not to root for Wazzu and Oregon State.

He'd have to compete for the job anywhere he went, and with Rocco leaving, the timetable just moved up a year.

Big ten right now is around 70MM, not 90-100

So be it. The players will be making decisions they feel are in their own best interest. There will be some very good players that will transfer, even (shockingly) to schools other than Penn St.

All we can do as fans is support the players who will be playing next year. But it seems by your other comment you are still angry at Campbell for leaving. Understandably. But don’t be angry at young adults making a very difficult decision that doesn’t align with what you want them to do
I would have agreed with you pre-NIL. But those same players are demanding we pay them now. Once that happened all bets are off. You want something from us but don’t want us upset when you take the money and leave? Can’t have it both ways

I have a hard time believing that based on the massive dollar discrepancy, but we'll see next season.

I’ve had this same though a hundred times th last two weeks when I hear “these coaches and players owe us nothing” when it’s our dollars paying them.

Imagine any other business and apply this same logic and it sounds like of crazy.

Until you realize there are virtually no contracts and they have a monopoly on our fanhood. It’s not like any of us are going to stop watching ISU football and go watch the WNBA instead.

So maybe not crazy after all.

Yeah, I’m just blindly parroting what I found in a quick search.

There were a few things claiming the PAC-12 media team prioritized actual broadcast exposure over dollars as part of their long term strategy, and the result is they’ll get their teams on TV at a P4 level.

They had to have something valuable to poach all those MWC teams, so it seems somewhat plausible.

Then take a view of players as employees. You are paying an employee because you value the skills they provide. But just because this person is employed by you doesn’t mean they owe you loyalty. You are paying them for their services. But most will be seeking other opportunities

Look around your organization. There are surely some that have 25+ years with your company. But generally more than 50% have been there less than 5 years, and it’s probably closer to 75% than 50%

TLDR: just because you pay someone doesn’t mean they owe you long term loyalty
