NFL: ***Chicago Bears 2025 Thread***

Mixed emotions. San Francisco is my second favorite team after the Bears, but love Purdy.
It was so easy to jump on the Purdy9er bandwagon with it coinciding with the Eberflus years that next week's game does create mixed emotions.

My approach is root for the Bears (Bears fandom first) but if the 49ers win hopefully it's because Purdy throws 4 TDs in a 28-21 win.

Basically worst case scenario as I see it is for Purdy to have a game like he did against the Panthers earlier this year and yet the 49ers still end up beating the Bears.

I think this is the first time I'll be watching a game where Brock Purdy can destroy one of my goals as a fan. It's a weird place to find myself.

Yeah as Denver fan I've had to deal with this twice when we played Jets and Texans. Tough when ISU guys are playing against your team.

With the Packer game as a win, the SF game becomes huge for getting home field advantage. Still and 11% chance the Bears don't make the playoffs if they fail to win one more. In my head I'm hoping the final game against Detroit is meaningless because this Bears defense does not match up well with them AT ALL.

Hope it doesn't happen but could see Bears losing the last 2 and end up back in Green Bay for the Wild Card Round of the Playoffs (Packers 2 seed-Bears 7 seed).

Hopefully Lions lose one of these next 2 (Steelers, @ Vikings) and that last game won't mean anything to them. Ravens beating the Packers next week would be nice as well if we are being greedy. ;)

I honestly think the Bears match up very poorly with both Detroit and SF. Brock Purdy is going to pick the Bears defense apart. Detroit torched them badly already. But I've learned you just do not count Caleb Williams out--half the Bears' wins this year are from behind in the 4th Q, so we have to wait and see. The kid is a cold blooded killer.

For the running theory that the NFL is scripted like pro wrestling, I screenshotted the Google search result of the Bears playoff chances 1 hour before the game even ended.
:D :explode:

I can't get over how awesome that game was.
Same. 58 minutes of that game the Bears showed no sign they were capable of winning that way. That was the sixth time this year Williams had led them to a victory in the fourth quarter, a club that includes Manning, Roethlisberger, Elway, Brees and Marino.

Damnit this isn't good. Now the Lions get to face Max Brosmer on Christmas and Packers probably the same the following week.
