Rocco joining the Transfer Portal

That podcast him and Blum did i think on that Sunday after the dust had settled was super cringe.

If you didn't know any better you would have thought Campbell passed just by listening to his tone and his body language.
This is exactly what I said at the time after all those shows. “He didn’t die in a plane crash, he quit for more money and resources.”

If this happens I'll totally continue to not listen to them.
I generally like the Two Guys shows. Personally, I think Hassel is much better at the role than Williams. I get sick of Williams’ talking like he’s some kind of expert on betting, crypto, books, etc. Hassel treats the show like he should with about 80% satire.

I find it generally entertaining and Hassel is really funny at times. But if it becomes the Iowa/Iowa State/Penn St show, I will absolutely stop listening. I don’t think Williams’ realizes that only a very small fraction of ISU fans care about Campbell anymore.

I was referring to CF podcasts but agree about what little I've seen of Hassel.

Him and Niang's back and forth two weeks ago was pretty great.

CW’s reaction to the coaching change was embarrassing. Guy was bawling because some friends were going to move away. And it calls into question any sort of “analysis” he provided that involved this coaching staff and, to be honest, the new staff. That should be remembered that going forward. When you tune into a postgame show, his love for the coaches means he will never tell it to us straight.

I recognize he’s not an unbiased journalist in his role but his bias should be to the cyclones, not the coaches. Truth is, he showed he is more Campbell Fanatic than Cyclone Fanatic.
CW just found out one of his good friends is leaving and dealt with an entire day of players, their families, coaches and their families blowing up his phone trying to figure out if they were going to stay in a place that they didn’t want to leave, and didn’t wake up that Friday morning thinking they were going to be out of jobs and moving. We can all blame Pedo State for how that was managed, but, I think we can cut CW some slack for his reaction that night. He’s always been transparent about his friendship with TJ and still manages to cover MBB in a transparent manner, either on his own or through Brend. CF and CW’s coverage of the Cyclones is still light years better than anything else out there.

It also came 24 hours after we obliterated Purdue in what was one of the most satisfying moments in my 35+ years watching ISU athletics and they called it stuff like "the worst weekend ever".

Cmon, just have some perspective, I csn think of plenty of things that would have caused a much worse weekend than someone taking a new job.

I personally think it’s still dramatic. I’ve had great friends move away, including I, myself, moving hundreds of miles away from my family to go to ISU and held it together way better than that. But that’s just me. I shouldn’t judge how people feel in situations.

However in a professional manner, maybe compose yourself, or hold off from going live until you’re able to discuss the topic appropriately. Give yourself a day or two, or have Brend do the live pod if you’re going to break down.

I know it’s a podcast so it’s a little more intimate, but still would have preferred some decorum.

Haven't read through everything, but IMO, Rocco doesn't have the talent or physical traits to make it in the NFL, which makes 2026 his final opportunity to make serious bank playing football. Combine that with the coaching change, and I am not surprised that he is transferring.

I don't think Penn St is the ideal landing spot, given the turmoil they are also under. Plus, it isn't clear if he would win the starting job there.

H
Given we now know Rocco was hurt and he & MC hid it / kept playing him hurt anyway…it might not matter if he’s qb3 in pedo valley, he’ll still start.

Like I said before…MC post game comments either showed us he wasn’t watching the games or he was sleeping with Rocco.

No baby…you played great!

I keep seeing this "freeing up NIL money" talk. How much was he getting? Maybe that was holding the rest of the team back.

This is just reason 1,500 why I'll never give a nickel to this NIL joke and nobody else should either. You're being grfited badly.

Think about it, average salary in Iowa is about $47,000 a year. His family's net worth is around 12 million. You're giving money to a cause that would take the average Iowa 255 years of employment to reach.
1000% this!!! If I have extra cash it’s going to my own 3 kids, not to this NIL that is destroying college athletics and given to kids that’ll sell you out if someone offers more next year. Have had season tickets for 20 years but the minute they tack on a NIL fee to get the tickets will be my last.

I have no hostilities towards Rocco and Campbell. They chose to become Nittany Lions and are leaving Cyclone Nation. My loyalty is now to Coach Rogers. When he leaves my loyalty will be with his replacement.

We will see what Campbell leaves for his legacy for Iowa State football. All I want is for Campbell to be honest with those who are considering transferring to Penn State. What they would be giving up. The pros and cons of leaving Iowa State. Starters at Iowa State could just become an insurance policy for backup if starters get injured.

That will no doubt solve the problem.

I hate the situation, but still love my clones. I will support however I can even through this lousy time. For all I know, it might never get fixed. I think the people with lots of money do not want it fixed, as they benefit from the current rules.

The focus needs to be on changing the rules / or actually creating some. I hate to think that might be up to Congress. No further comment on that.

When you've reached the point where you say, "Only Congress can fix this," only then will you know how truly boned you are.

No one is really benefiting tbh except the players and coaches.

There is not ROI for people giving money to NIL at the levels needed to compete at the top of CFB.

We need to stop throwing money at this crap and examine how we got here.

One EA sports game cover is now costing U’s $20-$50m a year with a 4% guaranteed increase til Jesus returns?

Insanity.

Maybe I’m off base, but I’m a bit surprised we haven’t heard more from CJR. In times of change, more information is helpful. I know he’s super busy, but even a coach announcement or a short podcast that says “hey, I’m out here. We’re gonna be fine.” Would endear him to the masses a bit. Feels like he’s gone underground.

internet rumor of the day CW won't let him on. :D;)

I've thought a LOT about this and have had discussion with family members (ISU fans) concerning RB's speech. If it had been me and I had even the slightest inkling that I'd be moving on to a different institution, I would NOT have spoken to the Women's team. I understand WHY Rocco is transferring, but he needed to tell Bill that due to the coaching change, another student-athlete leader who is committed to THE University (not just a coach) would be better suited to fire up the team. Just my 2 cents!
I guess I look at it differently. I see it as supporting fellow athletes against our biggest rival.
Did some of us read too much into it that he might stay yes, including me. But that was my projection, nothing that he said.

IMO some are withholding their unconditional love for our new Coach. Maybe it is a subconscious thing that showing support for Coach Jimmy Rogers is somehow disloyal to Campbell. CW has definitely let his emotions get the better of him. IMO that has been detrimental to Cyclone Fanatic. It’s almost become Campbell Fanatic. Tyler Mouser is not ready to be a HC. Not even sure he is a good OC.

Everyone needs to support Coach Jimmy Rogers. We need to be Cyclone FANATICS.
