Sherrone Moore Fired

Uh he just spoke to our WBB team yesterday, he is still here working.
Great idea. Have a coach who is no longer affiliated with the university coach a meaningless exhibition game in front of an entirely new staff coming on board with players many of whom likely won’t be with the team next year

Sigh….

Huh?

Heacock is currently still an ISU employee. Him and BF are friends, so BF had him address the team yesterday.

Gee its not like that has happened every year forever for one program or another. Its not like several other schools are doing just that this year alone. Including Wazzu who is in the exact scenario as us.

And the whole meaningless Bowl games is tired too. Most of the bowl games have the same meaning today as they die 20, 30, 40+ years ago. During the BCS era there was only one bowl that "mattered" for the Natty.
Before the BCS there was only 1 bowl that mattered for the Natty?

The Liberty bowl means the same today as it did in the 70s when we went, we werent winning the natty then. There is only more bowls today, but there are also more bowl series teams too.

Our Peach bowl in the 70s was not even for a championship, at that point it wasnt even a so called NY6 game. How was the tangerine bowl any more meaningful in the 80s as the poptart bowl is today. none of those teams were winning the natty, same as today.

Serious questions.... If you're Matt Campbell and you could choose between the two... you pick Michigan every time, right?
That’s assuming he would’ve gotten an opportunity to interview for the position. He was at least fifth or sixth on Penn State’s board, I can’t imagine Michigan would have him any higher. I’ve got to believe that at least a couple of the coaches that passed on the Penn State **** show would have more seriously considered Michigan.

Well if PSU didnt get Campbell Michigan may have.
If it had to happen I guess better sooner than later

Also according to Blum, not only is Heacock still on staff here, he has not been confirmed as having a position at PSU. There is talk and rumors but nothing confirmed. And he is 100% still here working with the team and staff in transition. Its not like Campbell packed everyone up and said Im done here and so are you, and told them they cant continue to work.

Stop with the rational thinking. This is too much fun!

So your reasoning is because a women’s basketball coach is friends with a coordinator who has already ACCEPTED a position elsewhere that Iowa state should had played a meaningless bowl game. And practice with a staff composed of new staff and old staff?

My god. People are obsessed with these bowl games. They don’t matter anymore. It’s playoffs or nothing. The only reason these other games exist is for tv revenues

Even Glen Mason (former college head coach at many major universities) was on KFAN this afternoon and said the same thing.

He sure cared when the Gophers (7-4) beat Alabama (6-5) in the 2004 Music City Bowl (20-16). I was there. He was H-A-P-P-Y! They still have the trophy in Minneapolis too.

I did not mention a bowl game at all.

In fact I was confused as to why you were talking about the bowl game.

And times change…. And beliefs change

He said today the only reason these games exist now is because TV needs to fill the time. It’s all about money. There are way too many bowl games. Making a bowl game used to be an accomplishment. Now teams can make it with 5 wins

Just telling you what he said this afternoon
