Does the Big 12 want Notre Dame?

The CFP should stop doing the weekly rankings - just wait until the end of the season and then deliberate. Pushing the rankings out every week just opens them up to these last minute switches that piss people off. The NCAA top 4 seed preview is dumb too - just let the season play out, make the determination based on all of the available data. They'll keep doing it because it drives the conversations for ESPN to fill their programming.

Sure it does, if you removed both G5 teams this year you get ND and BYU. Super easy and extremely deserving
BYU would've been swapped with Texas if that was the case. They would've been punished (more) for losing the CCG. [As a side topic, we should stop playing CCGs again. They don't serve a purpose if they truly aren't used in playoff seeding due to ND not having one, and if the results do matter, then the outcome is punishing the loser and replacing them with another team that didn't play a CCG. ND ruins this whole concept]. If you can remove G5s due to game quality as a human check, then they can also exclude BYU for the same reason.

Here's the problem with superleague team members making solutions for the playoff: you guys never suggest completely balancing the seats by conference, so your superleague teams still get all the preferences to any at-large bid.

You're helping yourself and your team, but it's not helping me or mine. Having further-expanded playoff pools does help me and my team, even if only a small amount. That's better than none.

Again if you look at the real rankings, not your conspiracy theories then BYU would be in with no G5’s. If you’re just making up facts then we just can’t agree but with the actual rankings we have in front of us, BYU would be in.

Instead we get to watch two sacrifices the first week of the playoffs

The rankings are designed with the outcomes already in mind (in this case, being that two seats were taken by G5). Do you really think that doesn't have an impact on the people setting up the bracket? You act like this isn't all people making stuff up at the end of the day. It's not "real rankings", it's a story the people on the committee want to tell.

How many people here sincerely believe they wouldn't drop BYU for Texas in that scenario? It's incredibly tiresome for you superleague fans to keep pretending name on the jersey bias doesn't exist.

“The rankings are designed with the outcome already in mind”

And we’re in full blown tin foil hat territory. I can tell you what would happen without G5 in the actual world we live in, or we can go to conspiracy theory land where you ideas live and in that case it doesn’t matter what you do you will always be left out because “reasons”

The known outcome here was that G5 was likely to take two seats. That was already known by design. That's not tinfoil hat at all. That's me looking at the CFP criteria published this year, which apparently, you didn't. Said criteria is now getting changed again next season to make sure ND doesn't get left out another time. Must be nice for them!

It doesn't matter what order you put the 12, 13, 14 ranked teams in on presentation because you already know they are not making the playoff this year. That scenario changes when you opened a spot back up to 12. Again, this is common logic. It's not complicated. The scenario changes, and so do the ranks around it.

You are simply dodging my basic arguments about superleague bias, despite the sport literally always being this way for its entire existence. That's to your benefit, and not mine. Like, ND is a shining example of this exact bias existence. It's undeniable.

Guess playing Army, Navy and Savannah State. Then Georgia Southern, Eastern Illinois, Ball State and Central Michigan ain't gonna measure up on the ol' Strength of Schedule meter.
Well, you're forgetting about the quality losses...

JMU is in the playoffs............and ISU didn't get a chance last year or the ref ball Purdy senior year?. Does anyone think james madison will beat ohio state.................I'll take bets on that.
James Madison is going to lose to Oregon by 30. Or Ole Miss or whoever they play.
