Matt Campbell to Penn State??

Listening to Pollards press conference (KCCI Twitter), it sounds like this wasn't a money thing for Campbell. He gets to be closer to his home/parents, and his parents and in-laws are dealing with health issues. Plus his daughter is attending a college in DC next year, so he'll be closer to her as well. Pollard said Campbell told him there wasn't a dollar value ISU could offer because the decision was based on family. THAT sounds like Matt Campbell. Its consistent with everything he's preached here for 10 years. So I trust that it wasn't about money.

It may not have been about money, but I doubt it was about that other stuff either.

I'm going to thank Matt for everything he did to show us and the nation what was possible, wish him the best of luck, and welcome Coach Rogers.

Coaches come and go but I'll always be a Cyclone fan. Loyal Forever True.
Sounds like an excuse for why he didn't even try to keep him. Campbell was looking for more support....

So he doesnt care about money or his family? Just the ability to put wins under his belt? Then why ever come to ISU in the first place? Why stay at ISU for 10 years when there were opportunities to leave earlier?

You might be right, but it isn't consistent.

The "family" thing is a really poorly thought excuse to save face. "Home" isn't that close to where he's going either.

And what's floating out there indicates it was less about being able to match PSU and more whether ISU was doing everything it actually could.

I assume since PSU is retaining Terry Smith he will be elevated to DC. Heacock probably is retiring, hopefully after being named interim HC for the Bowl Game.

what cap is the reporter wearing with a blue bill? cause it showed up on camera way too much here

Where exactly is home for him?

And why do you say that?

Because Pollard has a reason to pretend that a sick parent or some other ******** was the reason he left. If it really was about a sick parent, he'd be better off here than at a school that will demand a lot more of his attention.

I don't think Pollard is the enemy here, but he has an agenda.

His home has been Iowa for 10 years. His kids only know Iowa as home. He has lived inIowa for a 5th of his life.

He didn't take the Penn State job to go home.
lol you thought he was asking where Matt lives?
