From pollards announcement it sounds like he had this guy lined up for years...feels like there had to be some tensions between Campbell and Pollard in the background the past couple years. I really really really hope pollard didn't "quiet fire" him by not doing everything in his power to keep him because I think Pollard has done amazing things here but this doesn't feel right...but we shall see.
Campbell mostly just repeated coach speak nonsense.
Any idiot that has followed this for the last 7 or so years knew that there was issues with Campbell and Pollard. The weather person always insinuated that. And others.
If he's good enough for TJ, he's good enough for me.
I just think the coaching tree is massive and all sorts of coaches know how all sorts of other coaches can potentially fit or not.
Who knows though. Iirc Fred endorsed Steve after he was hired, so...

Seems CMC had been honest and there are other elements (his Mom is sick with cancer and his wife’s mother has been sick too). This is not an ideal situation but JP understands this situation and I think both JP and CMC handled this well

wxweather or whatever his name is. The one that during every coaching search would say that Pollard and Campbell didn't get along. And the one that said yesterday Campbell never signed his most recent contract (he had).
I am a lot of things, but no one is more dialed into the tiny details of every ******* Campbell coaching search.
Yeah I don't buy any of that. Its hours away from "home". Guy can be "home" in a short time from here or from happy valley.
Listening to Pollards press conference (KCCI Twitter), it sounds like this wasn't a money thing for Campbell. He gets to be closer to his home/parents, and his parents and in-laws are dealing with health issues. Plus his daughter is attending a college in DC next year, so he'll be closer to her as well. Pollard said Campbell told him there wasn't a dollar value ISU could offer because the decision was based on family. THAT sounds like Matt Campbell. Its consistent with everything he's preached here for 10 years. So I trust that it wasn't about money.
