Matt Campbell to Penn State??

Why the **** does everyone think he can't do better than 8-4 there? If he's only a coach good enough to go 8-4 at a place like Penn State why the **** is everyone so bent out of shape? That's ridiculous. He will win a lot there. JFC look what he does at ISU with recruiting classes in the 50s.
Yep. Could’ve been a Bill Snyder but will just be the next guy not Paterno followed by another guy that’s not Paterno that replaces him in 4 years.
I'm not sure why we should all be rooting for his success. I hope Penn State fails. If that means Matt Campbell fails, great.
But also a four game losing streak does not put him on the hot seat here.
I'm sad our future NFL guys on this team won't really be considered "ISU guys" once they all transfer.
Penn State will not put up with a lot of the crap ISU fans do. Hell, he went 7-5 with the most talented ISU team ever and in the grand scheme of things, we didn’t really care. Not to mention 10 years of the most brain dead special teams play you’ve ever seen and poor clock management. That stuff flies at Iowa State. He could win 7-8 games here forever and get a statue. At PSU the first time he loses to Ohio State they’ll want his head.
Firing James Franklin to hire the poor man’s James Franklin is just comical. He wont last 5 years at Penn State. So ISU football will be effectively killed for zero reason.
I hope he loses every game until the end of time.
Well that's why he probably won't lose 4 in a row. Good god he's sick of going 8-4 in the Big 12. I don't blame him for wanting a new challenge. He's done what he wanted to do here.
I agree. Unless he gets some amazing coordinators... Matt has too many weaknesses to be elite.
I've always said we needed to keep him as long as we could because he's the best we can probably get at ISU. He's a really good coach, and kids love playing for him.... but he's not great, and certainly not elite. There's a reason he was like PSU's 6th choice or something... and not their first.
I heard the same thing from someone I trust (Someone that was texting with Mouse last night while we were talking on the phone).
I believe Mouse and Campbell were supposed to go to the Ravens game this weekend.
He wants the hotter girl. Give it the **** up and move on. I'm sure he's aware of everything. Its not like he can't get another medicine job like ISU if things don't work out. I think he's confident in his ability. The sooner some of you people understand we are Iowa State the better.
If you haven't signed anything at that time yet though.... what is there to tell anyone? PSU could have backed out at any moment too... and then you look like an idiot.
Or would he tell them.... "yeah... I'm talking to them and I'll probably take it if the deal is right"? I don't think you would do that... but who knows?
