Matt Campbell to Penn State??

The damn November snow and arctic Iowa temperatures the last 2 weeks would make anyone want to leave here. Even for a place like PA. "You get used to it!". Yeah the **** you do.

Well our facilities are up to par, game day atmosphere is pretty good. Should be enticing to the next coach
3 years ago I would agree with you. Unless someone gets College Football under control this isn't good. at this point you need like 5-10M for just the head coach, gold plated locker rooms and now these coaches are basically getting a blank checkbook to buy players.

This has to be one of the worst Coaching searches in history. They have gone after 5 or so coaches and the bottom line is they got them all raises at their current school. I would not doubt it if they came after Campbell. I don't think Campbell would go. However, I could see Jamie giving him another raise. Any idea who else they are going after? BYU gave their coach a ton more money.
Drew, I believe PSU and Sitake are very lucky they didn't manage to hook up. As a BYU fan, I'm quite familiar with the situation in Provo. Sitake is an absolutely marvelous rah-rah guy for BYU and the boosters love him. He is EXACTLY where he needs to be given the overwhelmingly Mormon BYU fanbase. He is a good man and extremely popular with them because his strengths fit the HC slot at BYU perfectly.

That said, he is NOT a very good Xs and Os coach, and he's only going to do as well as his coordinators do. He doesn't know enough to help them do better. I could give you some concrete examples of that but I won't bore you.

Because of that failing of Sitake's he would NOT be a good match for Penn State and I'd have been amazed if he had lasted for even three years of the six his proposed contract offered. I am pretty sure his defensive coordinator, who is truly a brilliant football mind, would have been promoted to BYU Head Coach. Therefore, he wouldn't have been going to PSU and I doubt the OC would have gone either. Consequently, I strongly doubt that Sitake could have matched the record of Franklin's last three years, and that record of 10+ wins per season got Franklin canned.

We're not going to know now, but I am absolutely sure that Sitake to PSU would have been a disaster for both parties involved.

Oddly enough...the plan that MC brought to ISU would be laughed at today...good thing he evolved with the times! Facilities are just the beginning now...

They very much do make the blue blood cut. Money, Stadium, Winning history. Yeah they make the cut. You think an Iowa State or Michigan state coaching search would be making this much noise? Nah. It's making this much noise because they are a football powerhouse school.
Yes, they do qualify as a blue-blood football program.

Assuming everyone stopping posting on the thread because they are listening to the emergency podcast? Can anyone summarize it once it is done, I am at work and have no route to listen to it.

Basically no one in the facility nor the players have heard anything official about him leaving. Because it has been 2 hours, the speculation is that nothing has been signed yet and it is not official yet.
