Matt Campbell to Penn State??

If Campbell takes the job and it's sounding like it's happening, good for him. He stayed at ISU a lot longer than many people in the media predicted he would. Taking the PSU job will sit him up financially for the rest of his life, and they have the recruiting and resources that ISU can only dream about. But taking the job does have the caveat that he must win big there, beating the Oregon's, Ohio State's and Michigan's of the conference. If he is around .500 against those teams, getting them into the playoffs 2/4 years, which should not be a problem at Penn State, then he will be fine there.
What really sucks for us if he makes the move is we are so late in the cycle that many of the top choices that would have taken the ISU job are already at their new school, Golesh being the prime example.

I don't think he will do well at Penn State. Some of the issues he had here will be magnified 10 times over there.
That was my first thought as well, but they might have enough "help" around the program to deal with ST, clock management, etc that often bit the team during games and caused losses.

But if not, and they lose games for dumb game management reasons, gonna be a lot of angry fans. PSU is a place that wants wins at all costs, not a solid and successful program they can be proud of. CMC isn't a "win at all costs" guy, imho.

Hoiberg in Nebraska is the job he settled for after the one he left us for didn't work.. If Campbell fails at Penn State I'll root for him at the next job lol

It would kind of be cool if it takes a Cyclone to finally win an NCAA game at the worst basketball program in human history. I'm kind of shocked he hasn't already and maybe even more proof how hard that job is.

He could win a natty there or he could flame out like Fickell at Wisconsin.

Can’t blame Campbell for taking the money and a higher profile job, but he’ll have to develop some thick skin. Buzz words won’t fly in Happy Valley when they’re not happy.

‘Globally’ we might find another coach who can do just fine in Ames, Iowa.

Can't disagree with this more. This would be like keeping pictures of your ex wife on the mantle because she gave you 2 kids before she went off with her new husband.
My kid isn’t winning a Fiesta Bowl any time soon.
