All Big 12 teams

Rocco did not play well for almost half the season. I'm kind of surprised anyone expected him to get any post season awards.
I love Rocco but couldn't agree more that he didn't deserve postseason accolades. We know that now we can blame some of his erratic play on being injured, but excuses don't get you these accolades either

Orange and Miller should make it to the NFL. Bonifas maybe. James Neal doubtful.

Last year was a huge graduation class of Cyclones to the NFL. Best ever.

I wonder how common its been for a team to get to 8 wins with zero 1st-team all conference players??

Yeah, it's crappy. Unfortunately (for individual accolades), our system is geared towards team success versus someone putting up video game numbers. It's great for overcoming injuries, but a lack of flash hurts when these type of awards come out.

Reminder that there is no set list of # of people who get to be HM. If any picked you on 1st, 2nd or 3rd team, you are honorable mention.

It appears that there are 3 QBs who were honorable mention, so effectively, that could mean that Rocco is seen as the 7th best QB.

You want to really blow your mind, Konrardy was HM for Special Teams Player of the year and Specialist, but NOT honorable mention as a kicker. That means some voter thought he was the best special teams player in the conference, but not even a top 3 kicker in the conference? Was Kyle a gunnar on the punt team or something?
As far as not making HM as a kicker, I'm sure missing 3 games entirely and not being right in another one resulting in some badly missed kicks probably didn't help him much.

1st team: none

2nd team: Hanson/Brahmer/Flora

3rd team: Miller/Orange/Neal

Honorable mention: Sama/Eskildsen/Sowell/Bonifas/Buhr/Bacon/Konrardy/Perkins

I feel like a few of our guys deserved better, especially Orange

Realize it's not an easy job to play DL in the 3-3-5 formation, but having 18 tackles for the season had to hurt Orange.

I was more surprised Konrardy and Perkins didn't make one of the first 3 teams.

People who know football should have a reasonable feel for how much of an anchor he was for the entire defense with the way it is set up. Stats don't mean much on our d-line, particularly in the middle of it.

Iowa State didn't have a first team All-Big XII player for the first time in forever and still went 8-4. Just an observation.

But for one coach, he was still the best special teams player in the conference? That just makes no sense.

I agree that time off kept him off the teams and rightfully so, but it makes no sense that someone thought he was player of the he year
