Honestly, that wouldn't be a terrible idea. Lacking college experience, but he gets ISU's culture.
But...by far his biggest attraction to ISU would be that his son is on the team...might be OK? Might not work out so well...

That’d actually be a pretty great hire…Not if you hire his dad?
It has shades of FSU scheduling the press conference because they assumed CMC would of course say yes.I've heard that Penn State thought they had Sitake from BYU and were waiting until after the Big 12 Championship game to make it official. Then Sitake got the big raise and decided to stay at BYU instead. Now I don't know why anyone would want to take the job. With Franklin taking most of the recruits and signing day past, the cupboard is bare. Whoever takes this job will be starting from scratch.
With Sitake being Mormon, coaching at BYU seems like a natural fit.It has shades of FSU scheduling the press conference because they assumed CMC would of course say yes.
The Sitake thing is weird, but I see an angle where they’ve gone 11-1 and they are still on the bubble to make the CFP. Even with his alum status and love for BYU, a coach has to feel limited by that. They’re a top 4 seed with that record in the B1G or XII.
I could see it but I think he would do that once the kids are more grown up and off to college completely. Not sure its a move you make until later in your careerHow about him ending up at Mt. Union? Perfect situation, close to where he grew up, fun times teaching young men, great culture and football history. He's already made his millions, doesn't need the big bucks.
Prepare for rocky because some talks are going down tonight. Hope for good not bad news in the next few days. Then again a lot of us are that type of personality until they give us 10 million a year at a Blue Blood big ten school. I don' think they come after Campbell but if they do it could get rocky for a few days around CF.

I heard Jamie Pollard is going to be representing Matt at this meeting.Prepare for rocky because some talks are going down tonight. Hope for good not bad news in the next few days.
If Matt believes that Penn St fans will listen for even a moment to discussion about being process rather than results motivated, then he would be way off...Prepare for rocky because some talks are going down tonight. Hope for good not bad news in the next few days.

The reaction to the "I never said that was our goal" line would explode Happy Valley.
I disagree. I think there is a lot of Joe Paterno DNA at Penn State still and there was no bigger process guy than Joe. I agree with his:If Matt believes that Penn St fans will listen for even a moment to discussion about being process rather than results motivated, then he would be way off...

"Matt Campbell is a stud as a head coach," Pate said last month. "I think he is perfectly cut out for the Penn State job. The edge, the grit, the attention to detail, the different way you have to sell Penn State... Everything you would want in a Penn State coach, he has." https://www.newsweek.com/sports/nca...or-ignoring-prime-coaching-candidate-11145527
It's hard to see why they wouldn't offer Campbell the job.

I'd want to see him be happy and successful. He doesn't owe us anything. The statue outside the stadium might be off the table though.I really don’t want him to leave and he’d probably be successful.
But I’d be rooting against it and would find great joy in him having to “perform” for the fans much more.
I'm told there's a long ways to go. Could happen tho.he gone.
Don’t say that.I heard Jamie Pollard is going to be representing Matt at this meeting.
